Mega Thread TRAINING REPORTS

Training was short and sharp this morning. The players seemed to still be on a bit of a high after the weekend.

Clancee and Spurr both barely trained and look in some doubt of making the trip. Pav watched a bit of training at the end and he has his hand strapped rather heavily. Morra joined in until the match sims when he went off on his own. He didn't look too pleased about it at all. Zac C looked good playing as a forward and his set shots were bang on. He also had some great delivery to him on a lead which was good to see. Sutcliffe continues to tear up the track and barely misses a target. We thought Viv would be in line for a call up the way he has been playing and training but he went off with the WAFL boys at the end and they stayed out doing some extra work. The midfielders also stayed and extra 10-15 minutes doing a bit of stoppage work with Kirky and Mark Stone.

Selection will be interesting this week if Clancee and or Spurr don't get up.

Hmmm interesting. They had Spurr primarily doing laps the other day. I feel a lot more secure having him in the back six then I did late last year. Really selling himself on me. Both of these two would be problematic outs. Wait for the airport citings I guess?

Surely they'd be just about on their flight now? I hope some of the training reporters have a gig on the side at the airport

Bluey (one of the old blokes down at training) said they usually have on 6PR about 2 o'clock who is and who isn't on the flight.

Yeah nice one. I recently had the pleasure of buying a friend's new addition some Docker stuff. Theirs is a family divided between Eagle (Dad) and Docker (Mum) loyalties. Boys often defer to women, so here's hoping. In the meantime, nothing will shut him like a Dockers branded pacifier!

Yup saw the pacifier, just bought back bad memories, the jokes that could be said of it so didnt go for it, might get the baby scarf and nightdress.

Interesting today to see Lee Spurr and Clancee Pearce on light duties, whilst Zac Clarke trained well.

Clarke will play I believe, whilst someone has to make way for Fyfe to come in.

I spotted Sandi and Pav in the gym today, however Pav did have a bandaged left hand.

Max Duffy also sighted on light duties and doing gym work.

Viv Michie trained with the WAFL guys today so sadly he won't be on the plane.

If we lose both Spurr and Clancee, I think we may have reached that tipping point Ross talked about last week

Is it wrong to consider resting 4-5 players next week (anyone who has a niggle) so that everyone is ready for Adelaide in a fortnight.

I think Michie should play next week, and anyone else who has a good week in the WAFL.

Players who should be rested
McPharlin - Let Silvagni play back.
Anyone who has a niggle.

That would probably be between 10 and 30 players.

Not sure if serious. Do you mean the tipping point that some journalist kept harping on about when Ross kept dismissing him?

Yep anyone who's at genuine risk of aggravating an injury shouldn't play, which I assume is why Hill won't but no messing about with form and major changes. If you're fit enough you play and if the guys play well enough it should be an easier game.

So, is that to say Clarke didn't even do Ruck contest work with him ?
That would pretty much suggest ZacC won't play against Sydney.

late : In before post above.

Zac trained as mainly a forward. I'd say Hannath will be the main ruckman with Zac pinch hitting.

Zac is no natural forward though.
Where does this all leave Silvagni ??
In : Clarke, Fyfe
Out : Griffin, Silvagni (if Clancee is ok) !

Is it also an indication that Mumford won't get up?

Interdasting.

Maybe. There was talk that Mumford was doubtful so without Griff or Sandi Sydney probably won't want to risk him.

Silvagni still trained with the main group as a forward so I think that experiment may continue.

I loved Fyfe and Suttcliffes work this morning. Fyfe was as sharp and as Quick as Ive seen him,the 2 weeks rest was a Godsend for him and Cam just keeps on getting better, his delivery in the match sims just fantastic
Mora looked great again this morning and looked really pissed when he was called out to work on his own before the match sims.He just wants to get in there and show his wares, when he eventually makes it he is gonna tear the place down.
Zac Clarke rucked and played forward in the sims, looks ready to go ,hopefully tear it up Sat

Zac is replacing Griffin, not Silvagni.

Silvagni stays at CHF. Hannath moves to first Ruck. Clarke takes Hannath's spot at FF.
