As others have said, was a very low key affair today. I think we are the walking wounded and entering into the territory of managing players workloads carefully. Hopefully the bye will be a bit of a turning point in terms of players starting to come back and the injury list going down.

Re Simpson. He did spend a fair bit of time with the main group today before joining the WAFL boys after the main group left the track. It was definitely my impression that they were making an effort to get him involved in the play. During a forward drill it has him and Pearced who were chosen to kick the ball to the forwards with Simpson taking the majority of the kicks. At one point he was taking the kick-ins from fullback to start the full court drill and was also used a lot through the middle. He looked a little overawed at times TBH when given the responsibility taking a long time to kick and duffing a few in between his sweetly timed ones. He gaves us a little piece of magic though when he lost control of the ball but managed to control it behind his back where he did a little basketball trick to whip it back out in front and dish of a handball in one lightning move. Everyone one the terraces gasped in awe! A bundle of talent this boy but maybe a little way off the bigtime.

The other player who caught my eye today was Taberner. He's a lovely mover and just has great skills below his knees for a big guy. Think we might have a player here.
Tanner Smith and Forster showing good signs also.
Duffy can really shift and looked keen today.
Michie continues to impress.

Gees compared to the pre-season its a regular sewing circle in the Salim Malik stand these days. JMT bringing the new bub along and all! Congrats mate, beautiful little girl.

Was heard to call out "Nice tap work chums. Great effort and all." to Clarke and Hannath before returning to his buttered scone and Fin Review.

He had this light blue Hugh Heffner style robe on as well.

The only thing missing was the pipe.

As the players were leaving field he yelled out across the top of the Fin Review, "Good Show Lads!"

Definitely no Pitt out there. I think Pearced was wearing 4. probably saving his own jumper for Sunday so he didn't have to wash it

Often at training the players will honour a fallen warrior by wearing their Guernsey. Ballaz is wearing Hilly's jumper at the moment, but he and Hilly always swapped Guernseys at training anyway.

I think Micky Barlow was wearing Jon Griffen's Guernsey last week and Mora's number 2 jumper was worn proudly after his recent accident.

It's a great tradition.
