Mega Thread TRAINING REPORTS

Heard that Ross is ramping up training to 5 sessions a week after the bye and then lighten of in the run to the finals.

Really happy to hear that we are training in the manner of a serious and high level (top 4) finals contender.

Just a little sad that this was still foreign until this year!

Popped into training yesterday - most attended training session I've seen for a while.

Seemed to be doing some sort of match simulation with a bunch of witches hats.

Pavlich, Walters, Hill & Sandi no where to be seen.
Barlow, Fyfe, Duffield, Ibbo & Mundy the standouts for mine with D Pearce showing good signs.
Crozier & Sutcliffe both started well but seemed to tire a bit towards the end.
C Pearce kicking a bit off but otherwise solid.

Team was a bit scratchy after the half way point but RTB gave them a bake 3/4's of the way through the session and seemed to respond well.

McPharlin left training a little early but seemed more that they were managing him rather than cause for concern. Silvagni rolled his ankle at the end but unsure of the severity.

I must admit it took me a bit longer than I would've liked to figure that one out.

Got me a beauty:thumbsu: I was about to post and say you got your days mixed up either that or you were Nostradamus and predicting tomorrows session.

Cheers. I was down there too, were you the guy with the purple shirt on, waving the flag? Anyway, interesting to note that Jack Watts was down there as well. He was checking out how we go about it. Pretty cheeky considering he is still contracted to the Dees.

How do you reckon he went with his audition?

This is VERY interesting.

I remember in 2011, apparently Geelong ramped up their training in June/July and then backed off, in order to boost their fitness for September. They lost 2 games that they were expected to win (vs Ess and WCE) in July of that year but then went on to win the flag.

An AFL season is a marathon, not a sprint. Obviously Ross is trying to make sure we peak at the right time. He wouldn't be doing it if he wasn't confident we'll finish top 4.

I'm stoked to hear this. Thanks salim malik :thumbsu:

Goodnight farewell and goodbye
It was nice meeting some of you guys at training and talking to you on the webb
I'll still get to training when I can but I've got better things to do and more life to enjoy as opposed to being jumped on every time I post so I've decided its not worth the trouble and life is too short .

Thanks Salim but no.
I'll see you in your stand and will really enjoy talking to you, Bluey and the boys down there where we can talk footy have a laugh out loud, enjoy the light hearted banter with tales
of past players.
Seeing those wonderful young guys run around training and preparing themselves for the next big game is enough for me .
I though I would enjoy doing this but no thanks there's more to life .

No need for that Bushie.

It is soft Seppo.

If he wants to come on here and constantly make outlandish statements, (which he does), he can hardly cry when he gets called on them.

Mzungu in the same breath as Bradley and Harvey is akin to Creightown being mentioned with McLeod and D. Jarman.
