Yeah I remember talking about that but Salim also mentioned about reading an article on AFL clubs being influenced by Sports Psychology techniques from the US. I THINK he did anyway!!!lol
Sure it wasn't something that Rodger told him? :D

Yeah I remember talking about that but Salim also mentioned about reading an article on AFL clubs being influenced by Sports Psychology techniques from the US. I THINK he did anyway!!!lol

This article mentions we went to US for a conference. It is mainly about the Power, but it applies to us as well as we went to the same conference.

Richardson and Power fitness coach Darren Burgess spent three days at the invitation-only seminar that included keynote speakers such as new Manchester United manager David Moyes and Dr Andy Walshe, the Australian-born high-performance director of the Red Bull sports program.

The Power was among only four AFL clubs at the conference. The others were big-spending Collingwood, Sydney and Fremantle.

"We walked away knowing what we need to do is indeed do-able, even when we are not one of the larger spending clubs," Richardson said.
This is because some of the knowledge gained from elite coaches at the conference dealt with the mental preparation of athletes - a task that does not require major investment in new equipment.

Thanks a million gtd much appreciated.

And an interesting article also!

So someone might be dropped for Silvagni or Tabener, not someone coming in for Silvagni as he never actually played against the crows.

Still sunny or not I don't want a tall to replace anyone after that great effort.

Horses for courses. In slippery conditions like the game against Adelaide, a small forward line could work. Particularly as Adelaide weren't really ready for a short forward line. They retained Otten despite there not being a solid match-up for him.

Unless it is another slip and slide, we need another tall in the forward line. Silva is probably the obvious choice as he's been good each game (except the Sydney one), Smith hasn't been showing a lot forward in the WAFL, Dawson is only a makeshift forward and Taberner is too young.

It's tough to pick someone to go out though.

Sure beats my Toyota Camry after a full trade qualification and a uni degree :(

LOL.

Reminds me of a friend of mine some years back. I was a couple of years into uni and he was over a year out after graduating from a science degree. He rocked up to a party with his then 17 year old Holden Kingswood - proudly stating, see this is the sort of thing you can get when you finish all that hard work.

A solid session Seppo Crichton ran laps for pretty much the whole session, the mullet was looking fine and he even cracked a smile as when i suggested he might wanna run the other way to change it up a little. The Yalgoo Flash is looking like he is still somewhat coming to grips with the game plan, but when he runs I would suggest that there would be very few people who could get near him. Certainly very few of the Freo players from this session anyway.
Hilly looked a million bucks and was easily spotting up targets on both feet.
No sutty, duffield did some light running early on before heading back inside for the remainder of the session. As i was leaving I saw pav and sandi leaving the gym, both of whom seemed in fine spirits

The few times I've been to training I have noticed Hilly using his non preferred foot a lot more than most of the others, which always impressed me.

And it was responded to accordingly. It had the piss ripped out of it and rightly so.

Just what is so wrong with highlighting the fact that most of these outwardly thinking ideas of craziness come from a mature adult and not some kid?

If it was a kid, (which in general, these posts normally come from), you cut them some slack and have a giggle.

But over and over from a bloke who is even older than me....well

Distasteful, my arse.

Now now whitey think of your mystical powers and a pleasant place to be there's no need to get tense and unworthy of the spirit world .
There there don't you feel better now Oh I thought you would .
Sweet thoughts ,yes that's better now isn't it .

Seriously. How would you expect an able-minded person to respond to this inflammatory shit?

You poke the bear, and then cry like a bitch when I respond and then run away.

So why poke the bear in the first place if you are clearly not not up for it?

Will your white-knights hold your hand when you start crying again? Probably.

Or maybe they should caution you on playing the game if you can't handle it?

Either way, until they ban me, I will continue to call you out on your ridiculous rubbish.

No, I'm done with the white knight business. Rather just talk footy.
And like you say, he's the one calling you out.
I'm out.

That was probably unnecessary at this point in time..

Geez, I wish you'd all stop bitching and moaning like a bunch of blouses. Everyone has a right to an opinion on the topic of the thread. All the other banter is becoming a PITA for those of us that come here to read about 'training reports' and everyone's opinions on the boy's training for example.

I don't know about you bra; but I come here to talk about/read and debate topics which have some basis in reality.

If you disagree with my opinion, I will respect that 100%. But if someone continues with fanciful, pie in the sky, uninformed rubbish.....then I will have something to say.

And I think that we all should.

There are times Whiteoak when you are quite witty and insightful. Unfortunately, for the most part you are just a self-righteous, over opinionated boor. I do not need you to trawl through every thread and every post "calling out" those whose opinions you believe to be unworthy. Here's a bit of advice:
  • If you don't want to read a changes for next week thread, don't. But don't go in there and abuse those who do.
  • If you don't like couldabeen, ignore him - seeing you constantly bully him is no fun for anyone. If you get off on it you seriously need some help.
In the meantime, why not start a thread called The Whiteoak thread and those who want to go in and listen to you pissing and moaning can do so. Me, I think I'll pass.

And don't bother trying to bully me because I don't really give a shit what you think.

And yet you have done almost the exact same thing that you are having a go at whiteoak for.

If you don't like it you could easily ignore him.

If I post this, or similar posts another 40 or 50 times Wig, THEN I am doing the same thing. At the moment all I have done is express an opinion - once. Anyhoo - moving on.

Since handing out advice seems to be the order of the day...

I had a shot at those, (you), who start Changes threads 5 minutes after the end of the current game, ( a week before the next game for Christs sake), because it is just too inherently stupid for words. And then I started the next for a laugh with a slightly astringent OP that seemed to be rather popular, given the likes it received. But hey, it's a free world, you go for it if it is so important to you to tell the world that player X needs to go, even though you have zero idea if player Y has done a hammy or is to be reported.

How, exactly, do you bully a mature adult via typed words on a computer monitor? Are people really that vulnerable and soft? It's not like I'm posting his n00dz and threatening to show his mother FFS.

I don't agree with a lot of what he says, and I bloody well tell him so. And if the PM's I receive are any indication, then a hell of a lot of other people agree with me and disagree with the current approach of embracing and mollycoddling his idiocy.

Nice training report Whiteoak......

I used to get excited when new posts arrived in this thread.... now 90% of the post are irrelevant to the actual thread.....

Actually make that 91% now with this contribution ;)

whiteoak, i largely don't care when you're going off tap, probably because it's not usually directed at me, but you've said this before and i think you should be pulled up on it.
it's a copout to say the above, as what you do ends up humiliating someone on a public forum that their peers also read, diminishing their sense of value to contribute to the group. and i have to say you do come across as a bully when you're ranting repeatedly at the same person. that shit sticks, even if you think other people should man up. personally, i don't think it's anyone else's place to say how others should react to what are 'harmless' intentions. we place different values on the power of words and just because you're thick-skinned doesn't mean someone else is, regardless of whether you think they ought to be.

The Pav,Sandi,Sonny, and Moller[ must be a nickname for the stickman somewhere in this board, please enlighten me if anybody knows] out on the track and RUNNING and not the boring slow jog walk
Again had to leave early but the Irishman was staying on and he will give us the rest of the info to be sure,to be sure:)
