I wouldn't be surprised if they both get up for Geelong and it's the first time in the season we field our full strength side.

THAT is a tantalizing possibility. Full strength for Geelong? Whooo! :) Do we risk that? On one hand, I'm loving the possibility like that "Star Wars" moment when that guy from the Empire snarled to his cohorts, "With the completion of this battle station, we now have the ultimate power in the universe...I suggest we USE it!" It'd be great to lay the smack down on Geelong for a third straight time, especially in THEIR house. But if we hold back Sandi and Pav for the Cats, lose to them but later win the -- Uh-oh! What's that, Coach Lyon? Yes, yes, you're right. Of course. We haven't accomplished anything yet. Focus on this week. THIS WEEK. The Kangaroos. Yes sir! You're clear, sir. Crystal clear! :thumbsu:

I would rather go in without Sandi and Pav for the Geelong game and mae sure they hold up for the rest of the season. I'd back the team at the moment with Walters in to beat Geelong just. No need to rush to valuable players.

I think the timing is about right to give them a solid run into finals - the Geelong game we'd really benefit from having them back.

Even if it's just Sandi coming back and having a training drill by parking in the forward line and sharing ruck duties with Clarke. Gives us some extra height and mobility (I figure Sandi and Hannath have the same turning circle) which will be good against Geelong.

But yeah, having them both back would be perfect - give them both game time and build them up in the same way we did with Mundy and Barlow last season.

G,day Hazza. Quick question. Was Crozier training and was he strapped up as it sounds like he may not be 100% fit?

Yes, he was doing a fitness test earlier which he obviously got through and then joined in with the main group. I don't think I saw any strapping from memory.

Gaskin or Salim will let you know.

From today.

I tend to think we might even have more chance of beating Geelong without them.

Bring one back maybe, but bringing them both in together after such long lay-offs could leave us vulnerable for lack of run in such a big game.

My thinking as well, should stagger them if we have to 'carry' rusty skills for a game or two.

Ootong & Lincoln about to become my new hangout. Ditching the Mill Bakehouse - even though my daughter and I recently had a late breakfast 'with' (two tables away in an almost empty cafe is kind of 'with') Stephen Hill, Chris Mayne and Michael Barlow just recently. I wanted to take a pic, but I too thought it was a bit stalkerish. So I made the kid do it instead. :thumbsu:

This was clever - Gen Zs have a different privacy compass.

Fingers crossed Sandi is the only in for the Geelong game for Hannath, with Clarke rucking the majority of the game. Pav to come in the following week.

I'm of the opposite opinion. Would rather bring back Pav for Geelong to address out biggest deficiency (forward line), rather than Sandi, where clarke and Hannath are holding their own.

Even if Pav is lethargic, he will still help by drawing defenders. You don't leave Pav alone, no matter how underdone he is.

True, that's another perspective, i'll admit. My reasoning was that it's risky to bring in 2 underdone veterans at the same time and the fact that I'd back Sandi to have more of a hulking impact at the stoppages than Hannath, whereas Pav will still be double-teamed and smothered against the good teams when down on fitness - see earlier this year.

IMO they won't risk Pav for such a long road trip to Skilled. Cold weather footy, then on the bus for an hour then on a plane for four hours not the best way to recover from a 10 week layoff, just don't see it happening they will wait for the Subi games then Stagger the returns.

Pav return Saints at Subi
Sandi return WCE at Subi
Mora return Crows at Subi ;)

I personally don't think that they'll bring either back until after the Geelong game. I don't believe that it would be a good idea to bring them back at very cold and miserable Skilled Stadium- good way to do further injury when you're very cold.
