Has anyone seen our boys at training this week?? If so can you give us an update on how they are going???

Dale Thomas has shaved his head. He looks a bit like Michael Clarke now.

I reckon I'll probably head down tomorrow morning. Might even get to the VFL praccy match on Friday arvo if things pan out.

Looking to the Forward to your Report.

I be at the the VFL Practise match on Friday as well

I had a look, but can't give a comprehensive report because; A) I got there about 10:15 & they were already well under way, B) I was keeping an eye on my son & C) I was also simply enjoying the sunshine!

It seemed like a fairly light, short session, they finished up about 11:00.

The group was fairly small & it looked like it was pretty much only the main group who have been named for Friday night's game that were training. I didn't notice Dawes or Jolly for instance, nor many of the younger/rookie players (eg Perham). I imagine many of them will play in the VFL praccy match tomorrow.

They were mainly practicing game style scenarios, eg:

Bringing the ball out of the backline, with numbers in support & kicking to a leading forward.

Stoppages in the forward line with the ball getting fed-out for a shot on goal.

Press-style chasing/tackling, in a confined space, with the emphasis on attempting to disrupt/smother the ball being passed around.

Running shots on goal from around 50m after a dish-off from a teammate.

There was a lot of focus on Shae in a few of these drills, particularly the stoppages & leading forwards. Players like Cloke & Pendles were telling him where he should position himself, run to, have a shot, etc. There was a lot of encouragement towards him from the other players & line coaches, with MM even barking at him (not in a bad way) a couple of times to rev him up. It looked like they were putting a fair bit of work into him in preparation for tomorrow night.

Woody did most of the ruckwork.

Wellers looks much better kicking for goal on the run/snaps, rather than set shots.

Harry bombed a couple of nice ones from about 50m.

I noticed Krak a few times, but he didn't really grab my attention.

Heater was really vocal, encouraging & instructing his teammates.

Sinclair needs to concentrate on his marking. He fumbled a couple on the lead, in contrast to Travis who clunked everything that came his way on the first grab.

Keefe looked ok marking on the lead, but much less so when the ball came in on the half-volley.

I think someone said somewhere that Daisy had shaved his head? Anyway, he had a hat on the whole time, but his blonde boof looked to be poking out from underneath.

At the end of the session there were quite a few shots on goal. I noticed a few torps were coming in & quite nicely too. I found it difficult to tell who was bombing the torps, because there were lots of shots being taken & the players moved off quickly after shooting, but I think it may have been The Anvil and/or Fasolo.

That's about all I can think of at this stage.
