Every time I see our recruits, I think of how the Hawks under Clarko had guys like Breust, Gunston and so on, a multi dimensional forward line, even post Buddy.

George, Curtis, Zurhaar, Sheezel, who the frig is going to stop all these blokes one on one, in the air or on the ground, when the opposition is stretched across all of them?

I am also reminded of the best Geelong teams, where you really didn't know if Chapman and Johnson were an extra mid one week, or a deep isolation one on one forward matchup the next.

Doesn’t have a real good endurance base, they build him up really slowly and make sure all the building blocks are in place before letting him loose. Might get a few VFL games towards the end of the season.

VFL Reserves no longer exist. All players nominate a local feeder instead. For many it’s their junior club which is great for local football.

Our new recruit Hamish Free has been taking most of them, hits absolute 35m bullets that land on the tit.

George looks powerful, which is great. Getting worried that our 2023 team is going to be too slow but can see that another 12 months on and we should be able to rectify that.
