put logue back to CHB where he belongs
bring CCJ in for a small

Grim.

Literally why he left Freo. We do an excellent job at showcasing why other FA's/trade targets shouldn't come to our club...
Different reason though.

He’s not been pushed out of his preferred position by other players.

It’s more a case that our list is farked and he’s doing it for the betterment of the team in the short term.

Long term, he’d know where he stands when we got our list together.

it made sense last week when comben and CJ were out
but CJ is fine now and can play that KPF/2nd ruck role allowing griff to go back and play on the oppo's CHF

I think this is slightly overcooked. I know it's accepted wisdom but for mine it is more that he was moved forward because they rated others better in defence longterm and he likely didn't feel comfortable that he had a long term career in front of him forward (and would then ultimately be pushed out completely) - so made the move on his terms for a good contract.

I doubt they are strong arming him into anything he is not comfortable with doing for the team.

I'd still like to see Logue move back and CCJ in for two reasons;

1 - we need to know if Logue and Buckets can work together

2 - we need to know if CCJ can do anything at AFL level

I expect Griff to play pretty high and provide an outlet down the line when we don’t have a fast play or aren’t able to chip it around. CCJ plays deeper and chops out Goldy. Larkey has a bit more freedom to play his game and not be double/tripled teamed.

Last week we had nothing and the Saints zone really worked forcing us to play chip, chip, chip footy.

An interesting thing l noticed at training today.Towards the end of the session, Monhurst was talking to (coaching) Goldy and Free together aside from the main group for about 10 minutes...Maybe something Maybe nothing...

Maybe, they’re of the view that CCJ is not right to come back in this week?

We may already know the answer to question 2.

He beat Buckets twice in the first 5 minutes today .Once he was too quick for him on the lead and the second time in a one on one contest....he looked ok..

But then the coaching staff would have to deal with the fact that McKay really only plays good football when he’s the top dog down back, and that his game is putrid when he has to cooperate as part of a system.
