Might also be why Ronke is on our radar.

I hope it's nothing too serious for Spicer. From a playing perspective I'm not fussed. Looked miles off it and had the physical pressure of a feather. Would prefer we took someone with pick 40 and got Ronke as a rookie.

I think there is a player in Phoenix and to be fair to him, his time at our club has coincided with enormous instability and the worst performances since Ronald Dale Barassi arrived.

That said, I'm a big Ronke fan too. Relatively local boy as well.

Why not both dot jaypeg?

Yes he was meant to. A wait and see on when he decides to return.
Not exactly the way to impress the coach, doesn't sound like the actions of a young man who could stand up on the last day in Sept.

I get the family stuff to deal with and all but at minimum a time on when he will be back surely just the basics.

Yeah, what a slouch.

Probably why it took them so long to win a flag. :drunk:
Incidentally, today I was thinking a bit about the mature bodies that we're trading in, and those that are getting mentioned in relation to us, and it does seem like being a good runner is a bit of a common thread.

Tucker covered more distance on average per game than any other Fremantle player in 2021: 13.23km.
Logue is one of the fastest sprinters in the entire comp, obtaining speeds in excess of 35km/h.
In a team with a pretty formidable reputation for fitness, Liam Shiels was their second fastest runner over 2.2km just before their threepeat.
Even Daniel Howe racks up the kms pretty well, nearly cracking 15kms in a single game.

EDIT: fixed shiels link
Yeah that's good news. Its good to see Clarkson noticing the running issue and trying to fix it. For years people said on here that its the speed the ball moves at that matters, not the speed the players move at but they aren't exactly right about that.

Four players over 35km/hr in that Freo side. We had one (Bonar) and one who hit 34.

Bailey Scott looking really sharp imo.

Running over the ground, put on some size, looks like a senior player now.

Cunners and WP in full training.

Practicing ball movement.

TT seems to be deployed begind the ball, maybe an indication of where Clarkson see’s him.
But Cunners isn't due back yet. Which can only mean one thing… he's come back early.

It’s a topic for another time, but how we handle Cunners this year is going to be interesting.

He’s definitely lost a yard and is coming from a very long way back fitness wise, which is understandable given what he’s gone through. He’s on his haunches for every drill.

Not sure athletically he’s ever going to be what he was.

He’s still as strong as an OX but he’s going to get run all over by opposition mids on the spread.

Agree, Clarko will certainly be planning for how we best cover his deficiencies. From a game management perspective I think we'll see him resting forward more often. It's easy to forget what a great mark and excellent kick for goal he is. Hopefully with some better ball movement we can use that to our advantage. The prospect of Sheezel hitting Cunners with a laser bullet is quite tantalising.
