I’m fully aware how forums work & differing opinions are welcome.
tZ stays away from personal attacks, which is admirable when he is coping it from all angles on occasion.
It’s the flogging of a dead horse on many topics that becomes tiresome though.
I find it amusing when people get angry about an opinion

But to your point the flogging dead horse happens when you make/have an opinion that’s not in line with status quo

Then nuffies get angry and I just respond back calmly stating my position again. Then another nuffy poster pipes up and rinse and repeat

I 100% agree on that.

The Z knows my position on his Cunners views (I disagree ) but comparing to Snake simply isn't right or fair.

So you think criticising Ben Cunnington for not coming back early, repeat early is fair? After the nightmarish last many months he has had?

The bloke has, in my opinion, done more on field than anyone currently at our club and he is entitled at this stage of his career, to choose to come back at the official start to the pre-season. Coming back at exactly the same time as most players do on our and any AFL list.

I'm comparing tZ on this issue with how I believe Snake would have seen it. There are many things that Snake has done, that rightfully led to him being banished, but I doubt if he would have ever criticised Ben Cunnington in this situation.

As for ignoring you, let me be very clear. I have adopted this approach, because I don't like the way you deliberately post controversial things from time to time, in my opinion with a view to get under the skin of other posters.

You obviously enjoy it for some strange reason. I don't. I think it is ridiculous behaviour, so rather than get agitated by it, I ignore it.

Finally, there are a few people here I might accept being lectured to. You are not one of them.

You might want to re-read what I posted. (which I thought was very clear that I have no issue with Cunners)

You've now gone on a massive post commenting about nothing like what I said.

It's funny too as you claim i'm lecturing when you are doing exactly that! You also claim you ignore me me obviously you don't.

Anyway, go back and read what I posted again please.

To clarify what I mean by ignore. If I happen to read one of your posts and it is one of those that is designed to stir things up, I choose not to respond. Not worth the effort.

People don't get angry about your opinions...

People don't get angry about the fact that once you have an opinion it never changes, in spite of how much evidence might pile up that counters your opinion.

People get angry about the fact that you feel the need to repeat your opinions every day on every thread, especially on threads that have no link to the topic. You do a topic to death, and then you keep plugging away, like you're trying for some Guinness record for the most pointless fluff that people have to wade through while looking for info worth reading. Which is frustrating because you have the capacity to be so much better than that, and when you're not on the topic of one of your pet gripes you can be a decent poster.

It’s not about credits in the bank

All players even the best ones can improve and also doesn’t stop them from coming back early to set standards

Now if this year was a one off I probably wouldn’t mention it but cunners never comes back early to set the tone. He stays on his farm and comes back when he has to
Worked for Gary Senior

He's a farmer. He has a list of 73 trillion things to do before he's allowed to go back to his "kickball". And he's a dad, probably spending as much time with his kids as possible before he "has to" go back to footy. I bet you a dollar he'd love to be back kicking the pill with all in Sunbury, but he's got a pretty full dance card. He'll be cherry ripe come round 1, he'll get a wink from Viney, and before you know, Robert will be your mothers' brother and he'll be dishing off to Luke just after that 1st bounce.

I get what you are saying and I its always good to get a different opinion, but on this take I completely disagree. I don't believe Cunners needs to be there early on setting an example for the younger guys, there will be other seniors who can do that. The bloke deserves as much time off as he requires and he will return when he and the club feel he is ready to do so. It has worked all those other years (excluding the time he was doing chemo), where no matter how much preseason he does, he is still our best player. So I don't see any reason to change that. And in saying that, I am also sure he is doing some sort of training at home.

Now I have no doubt that there will be plenty of running at the start of the preseason and someone like Jy can set the running standards for the young lads. I don't believe Cunners needs to be there for that part. My take is that someone like Cunners would have the same running capacity no matter how much running he does. Some players are just built like that. Cunners strength is not running but getting the ball and dishing it off. So where I find Cunners will be great for the youngsters to learn from, is when the balls gets introduced to trainings. His skill level is elite, and they can pick his footy brain just like LDU did. That's where Cunners can set the standards and where they will learn so much from the great man.

Ever worked on a farm mate? I grew up working on one and always tested #1 in all fitness tests for school footy. Throwing round bales of hay, splitting and carrying fire wood, bags of grain, rounding up stock on foot, checking and mending fences,.....I hardly think cunners is sitting around in aircon with his feet up.

never said he was

my point was more around coming back early to set the tone and help drive standards with the young lads like a lot of the other senior players have done

good take ill add that they arent just doing running at this stage so he could help those areas now also with those young lads to bring them up to speed faster

Should I be concerned that Cunners isn't back training? Not sure why I feel this way but I do.

oh well as we darn say.

And I have learnt from the big footy if you say something often enough it actually becomes the truth.

Did anyone else know that?

How difficult is it to scroll past the posts from posters who you constantly disagree with or dislike ?

Instead of replying to said poster and then they reply back and you reply again and then we have another 10 pages of going in circles.

Judging by this boards reaction to tZ over the past 10+ years...extremely difficult.

I can think of a couple of people.

What tZ is saying adnauseam has merit. New era with Clarko starting etc but as a farmer he would be under massive pressure with the floods on top of his daily, weekly and monthly jobs. On top of again his battle with cancer.

I tend to agree that in a more ideal world, Cunners' presence early at pre season this year would have been significant but Cunners has a few issues to contend with so he should be excused scrutiny and judgement as life > footy.
