Any word on The Bull? To my eye he looks in fine fettle early on. He may get amongst it in the first 6 weeks for a change.

Oh and good to see that LDU and Tommy have removed any potential distractions from their off field lives. al Clarko would approve.
That last line - mate they are allowed to have GFs. What a silly comment.

No update further than the one last season, where the Bull claimed he's the best looking and the best footballer the club has ever had.

Actually well spotted, he was mentioned as looking his fittest for this time of year, normal returns a tad sloppy.

Track watchers how are you finding the skills and ball movement so far?
I know the list isn’t perfect yet and is still really inexperienced.
Are we still playing a bit more conservative and using the wings so as to not get burnt on the rebound?
Clarko would know the limitations of some of the boys so I’m not expecting a major jump in results immediately.

It’s going to take a while to unScott, unShaw, UnNoble the players from the habits they have picked up along the way.

I would think it's quite the opposite, a couple of strapping young lads like LDU and Tom might be quite distracted by all the potential suitors lining up.

Here here.

Passmore has long been recognised as something of a ruthless breaker-upperer on here.

Rumour has it he tried to slide between Sam Kekovich and an eager young lady post 1977 GF in protest at the team photograph being compromised.

I think we should have an annual BigFooty NMFC lap running/walking/BBQ fundraiser day, at Arden st. If not there, then somewhere else. Ligma can lead the way.

…obviously, I need to suggest, everybody stay at Agenda’s place.

Did I get more than I bargained for….

Kicking needs work from a few. Namely Hall, LMac, Stevo. Fortunately (maybe?) it's the older guys. The younger ones seem to be able to kick (Sheezel, Arch, Drury, etc.)

To early to say regarding the wing usage, but in the half-practice match they did yesterday, there wasn't a lot of corridor use. Goodthing is that a number of the guys spread really well into space, so that's encouraging.

Personally I don't like it but I understand why Thomas might be moved to hb

Still, I'd rather him develop through midfield/hf where he dominated half a season and looked like one of tge best young players in the league in that role
He cant be lazy there. He’ll have to work hard up the ground.

  • Drury to play BP
  • Powell could well be our most improved of course him and Noble didn't like each other. NFI why Noble didn't like Powell. Can understand Powell not liking Knobs. The "K" is silent
  • TT still has sore ribs
  • Comben is fine, will go better against an opponent rather than a mate
  • Our fitness is greatly improved, this time it actually is true.
  • al clarko happy with how the back half is coming together
* Fwd line needs work, not gelling as yet
  • Wardlaw is miles off, there are reasons of course. So don't expect him anytime soon ffs ( yep a few BF posters called that- well played)
  • CCJ is still CCJ- I still have hope.
  • It might take all year to "get there".
  • Get there means playing regular finals from 2024
  • al clarko does think we'll get there
Cunners & LDU to spend time fwd this season.

Oh happy with Bonar and Perez, but both need to make an impression this year.
The TT rib injury concerns me.

As some of you know, in April I literally broke every rib on my right hand side at least twice (they stopped counting at 30 fractures), punctured 1 lung and was bleeding from both. 8 months later, my thoracic is nearly normal, kids smashing me etc. Some slight agitation on sneezing or holding a full breathe. Different to full contact footy I know, but so was the level of severity in injury.

I know everyone heals differently and lives their own experience, so I really hope he's able to overcome things to get on with being a professional footballer. I can't help but feel it must be more mental than physical if it's stated to still be an issue.

Ouch!
Here’s to a speedy and full recovery mate.
On Nov 20, I was in a road accident , and cleanly broke 7 ribs ( once only) and a fractured sternum.
For the first time I was able to go to bed this week and lie down pain free . First 7 weeks spent on the recliner .
The most painful thing I’ve ever experienced, Endone was my best friend.

Fully recovered as of this week, thank god.
I’d like to think TT should be fully recovered too. He’s 30 years younger and much more fitter than me, without knowing every minor detail of his trauma.

Definitely not a track watcher but the foot skills from the match sim yesterday was pretty average on the whole imo. TT was missing targets under no pressure down back with simple transfers of play. Hall torched a couple trying to kick the leather off the pill! There wasn't a hell of a lot of separation to really gauge how much improvement or otherwise there was tbh. They'd already been going pretty hard at it for a couple of hours before match sim so again small excuses there. Drury didn't miss a target and Curtis kicked a few lazer bullets. Overall I'd say it's still going to be an achilles heel. But with improved fitness im sure it'll get better. Kingy commented on the dees training yesterday being highly skilled, we are a fair way off of that tag that's for sure!

Interesting comments. I wonder if you are a poor kick now at AFL level, can you get better? Do we have any players that suggest that? Is it a skill that you can work on when you are already established?

A shit kick will always be a shit kick. If you can’t kick at 18, you can’t kick at 22

I think you can definitely improve over time, I think in TT's case yesterday it was more fatigue/sloppiness than anything else hence the call of getting fitter. He's definitely one of our better users!
