Clarko won't fix every problem in two months. But I still don't get why so many of our players struggle to hold a tackle. It's basic football. Is it strength or skills? Whatever it is, surely it can be addressed.
Its cos most of them are either 20 years old or 22 and way too skinny and are trying to tackle 28 year old mids. So stremgth.

Even after consecutive wooden spoons to North, the Saints list still remains the most unappealing in the competition. Dare I say it, no mans land.
North circa 2016/2017. Topped up too much with FA thinking it could get ultimate success when it’s just a middling club. It should realise it’s young core, cull and hit the draft it will have a faster turn around to success than North has had (or perhaps will have).

Agree on St Kilda, but still not sure exactly where our list is at. The Bulldogs game has highlighted a massive gap in class and while it's ok to say that we need to get more games into Powell, Comben, Phillps etc, we simply don't know if they will turn into stars of the comp or simply end up solid AFL players like our co-captains. We just aren't producing enough A-Grade footballers that Dogs have in abundance despite having plenty of top 10 picks on our list.

So I am not laughing at St Kilda just yet

Time will tell ultimately. However, from my standpoint, there’s not nearly enough love for Bergman still. He’s one of the very few players who ticks all the boxes:-

  • Good skills
  • Stick his tackles
  • Good speed

Most focus seems to be centred on his relatively scrawny appearance.

I’m guilty of overlooking him a bit. The good news for Miller is that those that matter seem to rate him.

Was pleasantly surprised, adjusted to the pace of the game and made good decisions both weeks.

Fantastic to see. Not even a bandage so you'd hope that 8 days out he'd still be a chance.
If he doesn't come up, personally I feel Eddie Ford can slot straight in and provide some good coverage.

Our other significant injury Benny Mac obviously ruled out so will be interesting to see if the bring in Dawson or an underdone Corr who's you to get any game time this pre-season. Personally I hope the club shows some faith in Dawson for a couple of games and bring Corr up slowly through the VFL.

Corr played 3 quarters in the vfl last week and will play a full game tomorrow

Corr played a half in the twos on the weekend. Will probably play another game this weekend. He should be ready to go if required.

His footy IQ was one of the draft strengths also if I recall.
