Hammerfire said:Re: Meyer, i believe i read somewhere that he was a very good junior runner and had professional coaching with his running when he was younger.
blxx said:good turnout today, considering we finished 16th last year
I specifically went down today to get my first glimpse of the new sprogs and espescially to witness Gilmour and Meyer and wasn't let down 1 bit.
I think these two are the smokies. What number was Polo wearing?
Tambling is a freak FULLSTOP - thanks again Dermie n co
Deledio looked very sound and reminds me of Gary Lyon (the football player). not flashy like Tambling but sure and effective.
Meyer indeed has a wonderful running action and i can definately see the camparisons his former coach has of him and wanganeen. He has the same sort of build and those John Wayne like legs but a very quick acceleration with balance and poise.
Gilmour is doing his second preseason and is theoretically a year ahead of the new recuits even though he is the same age group as most of them being a result of being picked up as a young recruit last year. I think he will given a chance in the ones if he performs at the burgs.
Cogs seems ok, Rodan seemed to carry a slight limp, did anyone notice that?
Moore, Hartigan and Jacko seemed ready for action as was our everest eaters Knobel and Simmonds. Staff was runnin laps, maybe its a sign of things to come as his withering body prepares for yet another onslaught. Knobel and Simmonds for me with staff as the third option.
The best part of the day was tamblings chase down the wing to regather the ball. Even though he didnt have his red suit on i still think we should simply call him FLASH, any takers?
Couldnt care less bout many of last years as i said was only there to suss the younguns but i did notice how well Browny trains yet Campbel and Richo seemed well abit less interested than the other players. I can only has a guess that they must be so over playing in finals year in year out that they've just seen it all before![]()
The best part i saliva'd over all arvo was the competition for a spot in the ones next season will be red hot. There was close to two teams out there today both capable of doing the business on any given day. Wow what pleasant dilemma to be in
Best Draft ever in my books, very even spread of talent in the end and i know we payd for it bad but look at where we are now
what politics, who cares. We've had profits before but it still didnt make any difference on the field. Goin on todays turnout, we're all together and dare i say it again.....USHERING IN A NEW ERA![]()

Agree with Blx,Richo and Campbo weren'e trying to hide the fact that they were not into this particular program.
Quite a crap attitude really.
The sooner we ditch the old school the sooner we can start the new.
Was he taking your spot?oxx said:There was some dude hanging around the mens dunnys that looked like him.
I was too far away to be sure.![]()
We were saying the samething about Cogs when we drafted him.he looked like this>>>>>Hammerfire said:Darth, you should of seen him on the webcast when he was interviewed the day of the draft, he needed some Prozac pronto!!
As a lot of people said, maybe he was just nervous and/or is just a naturally quiet person, we'll find out in a few years times though.

Darth_Tiger said:once they make friends and settle into the culture of the club it becomes a lot harder to leave. most people when given a chance to get out of thier comfort zone decide to stay in it.
This is probally the sole reason why i believe we will have nothing to worry about when it comes to MeyerTambo!!!! said:he looks like he's mixing in well with the players. they are keeping all the recruits close together. krakour and tambling get seen together quite often! hope thats a good sign! im sure it is.
Can you lip read now? Not bad since you are semi literate otherwise.oxx said:No, but he looked like he was tickling someones fancy...was it you.
Did u say to him ""Oh Nicky, make me meow not roar"
