Those galleries remind you of the fact that these blokes are superbly conditioned athletes as well as footballers.
Agree. One thing I noticed is that Moore has almost unusually long legs. Gerard Healy the physio said that big blokes with long legs are more prone to injuries and he talked of the King twins when discussing this. A lot of our more squat blokes with shorter legs do not seem to get as many, so maybe there is something to this. And you might even think of Grundy who was as tall but has shortish legs.

So we want to move Howe forward, risk disrupting our strongest line and all at a time Moore is still unavailable.

How about we just play West and leave Howe in defence where I think his presence can have a positive impact outside just his own performance.

Frampton for one looks a better, more confident player when Howe and/or Moore is lining up beside him.
I actually think Howe has been pretty poor this season. Consistently burnt on the lead, intercept game has largely left him and has risen to spoil and let the ball out the back on multiple occasions. Not to mention his kicking does burn us, notably on Friday when his error started Freo’s burst.

Makes sense to see what he looks like forward and maybe give Ryan/Cochran/Reef a crack.

He’s definitely looking significantly older this year. Guess it makes sense after a few injuries, but it’s definitely making a post-Howe world seem near.

That's interesting on Howe. He's been alright down back, but Maynard and Frampton have been the real standouts in Howe's absence. I'd like to see a pathway for Parker back into the side, but would also be interested in seeing what we have with Ryan
There was an article in the Hun about Big Bad Billy, on how he has learnt to not beat himself up over mistakes.
It's taken him pretty much 10 years to get there, and as a result, he's been consistently good for us this season.
It shows you that sometimes you just need to hang tough for however long it takes.

Training -

Cochran was back this week after having last week off, I assume he must have been sick.

Moore stepping up his rehab with fast straight line running and starting to get involved, which means his recovery is getting closer by the day.

One thing that was noticable was sidey came straight to the rehab group, tried to do some running/rehab activities but went inside not too long later. I figured there was something the issue. There was talk of a hamstring, but a hip pointer issue.

Harry was another that started a running session as he deals with a back issue. It's a start.

+

You couldn't tell who was playing and who wasn't, as the teams were pretty mixed today.

Howes trained down back for the white team, so this could be something they are moving forward with
Played on Buller.

The other howe was up forward. Its an interesting move. Whether its something they will start off with or of its something he is training at in the case he could be thrown up there during the game at some point. Remains to be seen.

There was also lots of goal kicking at the end of training.
But overall, pretty light session for a main session. I imagine thats to do with the short break into thur

I like Anderson, but that kick at the start is a perfect example of his limitations as a footballer and it's a technique issue.

It's what will hold him back from holding down a consistent spot in the team.

I hope it improves.

No McStay according to Jen.

Jordy running laps but I'm pretty sure he has to be still based on protocols?

Swoop says Darcy is training bloody well and heavily involved in match play.
This is day 11 for Jordy. If he has passed the steps on the way through, he is eligible for full contact training by now.

Yes - return to play on the 12th day, return to full contact training before that. Not sure exactly when(if all boxes ticked), but it would definitely be the day before!
Its not necessarily 12 days.

To my understanding, you have to show an improvement/pass 12 steps (the protocols) to return.

For example, if you pass step 2 on day 5, then you cant return before day 15.

Mcstay injured Jen or potential managed given the 5 day break? We’ve usually managed a couple during the 5 day matches
Hard to say given all the info I can give is that he wasn’t there
Will know more Thurs

Jamie did running - imagine that’s deloading

Hope McStay is ok.

This will be an unpopular opinion - but I think he’s improving as the season goes along. Albeit slowly…
I tend to agree, at least this past match he went for his kicks rather than trying to pass the ball to someone else.
I think he had a good first quarter.

So he didn't train but he trained - right!

I want a job in the media, seems like the easiest minded numbing well paid job going around?
He has contracted vampirism so was confined to training indoors.
