The rain has given most of the photos a depressed Charlie Brown trudge after Lucy has given him another earful vibe.

I was at training too and spoke with Vanders a couple of times. He advised me that he won’t be playing until round 8. I also spoke with Simon Goodwin who said they are really being cautious with Vanders and he won’t play until round 8 or 10. I was impressed with Jordan Lewis who got plenty of the ball in the full ground drills. Trac and young Oskar Baker trained really well. Gawn was also a stand out IMO.

Went up to Maroochydore and witnesses some ugly football in inclement conditions. Had a chat to Billy Stretch and he told me that he models his game on Steele Sidebottom which having seen his size and what might be newfound confidence in his body is a huge plus. Another that caught my eye was Declan Kielty who I suggested might find space on a half-forward flank. He thought that it might help his craft to play forward and stated that Plapp had him up there last year for Casey. Nev came up and gave me the inside word on his teeth on being clocked one and stated that I don’t show the footage. Other than that I thought Joel looks the goods for a third tall position with Oscar and Jake taking up the main positions. Looks like track is going to play full minutes this year having seriously trimmed down. I also like Bugg. Seriously likeable guy.

Hi i come in peace , How is Jesse Hogan going this pre season ?(not asking for the reason you think)Just i had him in my fantasy team last year and after promising start nothing went right for him , If he is anywhere near his best see him as a well priced forward option .opinions ?

Reportedly training well. Unlikely that his father will die and he will get testicular cancer again you would think...

Presuming he’s priced around the equivelant level as Supercoach ($383k I think), then he’ll certainly make you some money.

I can’t say I would bank on him becoming a top 6 scoring forward by year end, but he’s not a bad point of difference for a mid-pricer given the lack of options in that area this year.

For an extra $100k or so, you might prefer to look at Petracca. He’s been more durable and has shed some kgs to play a lot more midfield time this year.

Probably not the safest fantasy pick. But for a key forward will be decent especially if he plays up the ground and has stunts through the middle. I reckon a good late pick in drafts though.

Sorry, Markm106 but Stunts have gone the way of place kicks and drop kicks, there is no part in our sanitised game for any of that rubbish.:)

Good to hear - but surely everyone who isn't in the rehab group (and probably even most of them), should be in the mix for round one?
Everyone but Wagner

I think when they say 'in the mix' in this context means that the form they are showing makes them a genuine chance to play. I wouldn't expect a Petty or Filipovic to be in the mix even if they are in full training.

Watts is a couple of months shy of 27 (how he's still that young is a mystery). He will probably give Port 75 games at a goal a game. Will be interesting to see how Fritsch stacks up in comparison, given he was the pick we got for Watts.
It was bloody weird seeing Jack in real yesterday.

We are probably saving about $350k is salary cap space too don’t forget, so it might have meant the difference between getting Lever.

Fritsch probably won’t be as good as Watts, but if he tries harder then I’ll still be happy.
