Thing I love most about TMac up forward is as simple as it sounds he provides a contest EVERY SINGLE TIME. I remember when we played Port he only kicked 1 but consistently brought the ball to ground when outnumbered in the air, considering both he and Hogan are supremely fit they should run a lot of defenders off their legs.
At the end of the day, you want a guy that can take a good defender, hold his own, contest and break even if he doesn't win, and hunt the ball on the ground with aggression.

Only thing im waiting for on Tmac is he has a 0.6 2 out on the full day in him somewhere.

seems like that every time he lines up but he usually strikes them clean as a whistle.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a player who is such a terrible field kick, be such a good set shot for goal!! I don't want to jinx the guy, but he's been very reliable in front of the sticks which has been incredibly surprising. No idea why that is. Maybe having more time to steady with no physical pressure is something that helps TMac. Some players are opposite..

I don’t like the sound of this Jack Viney stuff. I’m starting to think he won’t be playing round one. Actually I’m starting to wonder if he will be playing in 2018.
These injuries are bad. Seriously bad. I think there is a high probability he will have an interrupted season if this persists.

I don't like the foot injuries, there is no guarantee the player will ever get back, and if they do then there is no guarantee that they will be same player.

On the plus side it sounds like Oliver has come back in tip top condition after being a fatty this time last year.

His kicking skill is fine (compared to the competition average), it was more his decision making that led to him trying 40 m bullet passes to a player in the middle of three opponents in the corridor of his own 50. He's a very optimistic kick.

Agree. His kicking is far from shocking. Definitely a bit risky with his decision making down back at times.

He’s actually a very good set shot. Seems to have a good routine and reliable action.

Mate his set routine is awesome and he kicks exactly the same every time. Still think he's due a day where everything goes completely wrong and hit couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

Dunno about that. Seems a confident and assured guy - won't go to water like Cloke after a couple of bad kicks. Plus he's spent 5 or 6 years in our backline so a few misses aren't going to be close to the worst thing that's happened to him.

The latest article says they're being cautious and he is aiming to be training in Feb. There is nothing to suggest it's worse than we think, they are just being super cautious because it is a foot injury.

I know that, as Demons supporters, we're all natural pessimists - but in this case I think it's jumping at shadows a bit.

Tom has a ball drop that is mechanical/deliberate/robotic whatever. Great for set shots, erratic as **** on the run. Way better suited for set shots.

Hey the day he turns to water I'll happily sit here an..... wait

TOPKENT'S NAPALM THREAD

You'd think someone would have dredged up that old thing for the Collingwood loss, preseason camp, or even sexualt assault claims. Maybe Proper Gander will use it if she sees someone with a dodgy hair cut rock up to training

I’d forgotten it was there. Would have come in handy for round 23. And for Kent’s and Hibberd’s moustache phases.

Jack Viney should go full Mitchell Johnson handle bar and just grunt at opponents at Centre bounces.

I'd love for Tommy Mac to create the Nick Riewoldt problem for other sides.

Ideally 100 goals between Hogan and Tmac. 40 from Jeffy. That’d be setting us right up.
If this happens we finish top 4 IMO. More realistically I reckon they'll kick about 80 between them, but even that would be great. Good thing about TMc is his consistency, doesn't miss many games.

Tommymac was an excellent kick for goal as a junior. In the under 18's he was averaging around the 70% mark for accuracy. IIRC he kicked 17.5 in his last year as an under 18.
So accurate goalkicking is his strong suit. As is bad decision making as a defender.
