YepIs that the Carroll, Henderson and Downing only cost £20m because of Torres one?

Ox is a quality player, I like how he has come central now and isnt just your prototype quick winger. Same with Sterling but Ox plays more central midfield and Sterling has come inside and played the #10.Out of curiosity, what do other fans think of Ox?
Ive been super impressed with Sterling, when he first broke through, it looked like he could be another tiny, quick winger with tricks. But his game intelligence has really come to the fore. Learns really quickly and adapts. He now can lead the line, play as a false 9, play in the #10, play wide. He makes the right runs, knows where to be, doesnt hang onto it all the time, plays one-twos, he also tracks back and defends. He is actually becoming way better than I thought he was going to be.That's a fair call Jod. Januzaj was excellent for the 1st half of last season but tailed off. Imo, the difference is that Sterling is a smarter player whereas Adnan is still working on his stepovers! Adnan will get there but Raheem is clearly ahead of the curve. I wasnt around last season so can't comment on the fapping haha
This argument hold no water. Over the past three years you have scaled back because before the aforementioned three years you went nuts and bought world class players for every position. Now it's just about little tweaks and top up's here and there. Dont pretend that you havent splashed the cash. When you spend £100m you should be challenging for the title, right?
Fwiw, gross transfer spend over the past three seasons.
Man City - £208m
Liverpool - £215m
Who needs good young players when you have endless cash and don't waste it all on shit might be a better mantra.

Are you already in injury trouble?Apparently we're set to sign Malmo keeper Robin Olsen on a free. Anyone know much about him?
Thought there must be a reason he was going cheap. Are you already in injury trouble?
I have never pretended that we havent splashed the cash. But it is fair to point out that we no longer spend fhat sort of money and havent done for some time.
The Liverpool spending thing was just a response to a post from a Liverpool supporter who is living in the past. I don't care how much you've wasted.
And by the same token it shows how we needed to spend big to build our squad to the levels of the established Sky 4 teams. But it's a totally different argument, the discussion was about our spending reducing our need to develop kids.Meh, of course City dont need to keep spending insane amounts. You already did that early on to get world class players in every position. As I said, now it's just about topping up here and there.
Its scousernomics.God Moomba is going to use Scouse maths soon.
Your wage bill has gone up since 2010 though. 639k a day now IIRC. Transfer fees are only half the equation when it comes to spending.
Only if you pay us.Such a frustrating thread to read.
For some reason I keep clicking on it. Reading about transfer rumours is ridiculous enough.
It gets worse though, it's just you lot arguing with eachother about how much money each team spends.
Give it a rest would yas.
Well I wasnt arguing any of that and have no idea about your talented kids, if you have any and if any will make it. Ive heard of some Pozo kid. That's about it.And by the same token it shows how we needed to spend big to build our squad to the levels of the established Sky 4 teams. But it's a totally different argument, the discussion was about our spending reducing our need to develop kids.
If our spending is now at the same level or lower than several rivals and has been for some time maybe we need to look at other reasons to support a claim that we have no good kids.
City have one of the best youth programs in Europe.
