The simple reason for odegaard to come to the saints would be he sees better chance for development and first team experience over 3-4 years at soton.

Whether this is his view or likely to occur is unlikely. Would love him to come but we have more pressing positions to cover such as strikers and overall squad depth.

Also Rodgers has come out and said we wont be making any moves in January but he will look within the squad.

Went on about some signings starting to find there feet, im assuming he means Markovic, Lallana and Can etc.

So no doubt we do nothing in Jan.

Di Marzio and his team reported our interest in Shaqiri back in the summer, apparently Bayern didn't want to sell at the time but their position has now changed as per the quotes from Beckenbauer a few weeks back. Di Marzio et al are now saying that we're looking at him again (along with Juve & Inter).

That's about the only transfer business I can see us getting involved with in January, probably hinges on whether we can get him at a cut price (due to him approaching the end of his contract). It sounds like we're looking at a keeper too, but that'll only eventuate if the right one becomes available.

As much as Id love to end up buying a world class striker, AM and keeper in January. It just isnt realistic. We are much better off doing our shopping in the summer window.

A lot hinges on Sturridge though. If he can come back and remain fit and firing, we can hold out until the summer. Bring Origi back, sell Borini and probably Lambert then buy someone like Lacazette. That gives us Lacazette, Sturridge, Origi and Balotelli as options next season which is very good.

But if Sturridge cant stay fit and it's a big gamble considering his history, well we've seen that BR has no faith in Balo, Lambert or Borini. We cant ask Sterling to lead the line all season. He isnt ready and we wont finish top 4.

I think January is honestly about gambling on D-Studge's fitness. No idea which way we will go.

Salah rarely plays, right? So Chelsea are really trying to replace a sub player?

I think the idea would be to bring someone like Reus in to replace Willian/Schurrle in the starting XI, relegate those 2 to the bench and push Salah out the door. Not to replace Salah directly.

This would be the idea I think. Use whatever money we get for Salah towards a first 11 player.

Similar to using the Mata+De Bruyne money on Matic and Zouma (not first 11 but was a 12m buy). The obvious difference being we get nowhere near as much for Salah as either Mata or De Bruyne.

He obviously be a walk up start.

Yep. As others have said though, would like to see him stay at Dortmund, who've lost too many good players. Unless he came to Arsenal of course, then I'd be all for his departure from a sinking ship.

i enjoyed how they said that bony would change the situation in january, completely ignoring that little tournament with african nations.
Whoever runs that page is an absolute moron. They deserve all the crap they cop. I have no idea what goes through their head. They also write quite poorly.

Both best suited to the right wing IMO.
Reus plays on the left.

according to transfermarkt's performance data stuff, reus played on the right a fair bit with gladbach, but since moving to dortmund he's rarely played on the right. he really is predominantly a left winger these days and should be played as such.

The way the three behind the striker set up for Chelsea, it doesn't hugely matter where he plays because they're quite fluid.

Hazard is far more comfortable on the left or central than he is on the right, Oscar is best central or on the right. If Reus could be left or right, he'd fit in nicely.

That said, he'd fit in nicely regardless.
