4-6 weeks ago I, and most other Spurs fans, would have been desperate for a first-team striker to come immediately into the team as Adebayor's a head-case, Soldado just can't do it in the Premiership and Kane was still developing in the cups and off the bench. Being linked with the likes of Benteke and Bony was perfect.
Now, however, with the meteoric rise of Harry Kane I still think we need a striker but not a first team one. We need cover for Kane though because if he gets injured/loses form we are well and truly ****** in terms of centre-forward options. Love the fact we're linked with Ings as he seems a quality young player but I don't think he'll leave Burnley until the end of the season. Apart from that I don't really know who else we should go for that is reasonably cheap and happy to come off the bench.
Most importantly for Spurs in January though is to clear out some dead wood, particularly the players - Capoue, Kaboul, Adebayor and Lennon - that haven't bought into Poch's methods and were responsible for a dressing room argument with the younger guys after the Newcastle loss.
We also need cover in central midfield for Bentaleb who is heading off to the ACON and the recently injured Ryan Mason. The links to Adrien Rabiot from PSG on loan in that regard is perfect. A quality centre-half wouldn't go astray either with Kaboul and Chiriches unlikely to see first-team action or be at the club and Dier being inexperienced. Links with Hector Moreno and Raul Albiol also good here as well.
