Are you kidding? He was great for Fulham, great for Australia, and played well for Chelsea last season.
no I'm not kidding. Schwarzer is shocking at dealing with long range shots, very, very slow to move and is one of the worst I have ever seen at letting in saveable long range shots.

sorry for analyzing footballer at a superior level that is beyond 'oh he's an aussie, he's perfect'

I couldn't care less that he was born in the same country as me. In fact I don't even think he was born here. I'm able to assess footballers based on ability not nationality, as are most on here.

If you can't notice his propensity to let in rubbish and saveable long range shots then you really don't have a leg to stand on, nor does anyone here.

Yep, because we're all wrong and you alone have paid attention to his games.

Yep, im 34 and still have no credit cards. Im in no debt whatsoever. I know friends who are much younger than me that went and bought a 25,000 dollar car just cos they wanted it. It immediately decreases in value, I saved for like 2 months and bought a nice car for 1,800.

I get to the same place he does in the same time. He is in 25k debt. Im debt free. Some people are just stupid.
Stupid is thinking debt is a bad thing.

I'm 27 and in close to $1.5m in debt, I couldn't be happier tbh.

How's he been going?
Started off well but partly symptomatic of Lille being pretty awful this season, and I suppose partly due to a loss of confidence his goals have dried up recently. Despite only being 19 he's been expected to carry the side because of his talent, and when that hasn't happened the Lille fans have got really stuck into him, booing him whenever he gets on the ball etc. As Moomba said, probably best to get him out of there to a club with a more forgiving set of fans and more quality in midfield to give him the best opportunity of getting his scoring touch back.

In terms of the cost, £13m vs £10m is negligible for a club like Liverpool really. To be honest considering his potential I would have been comfortable with us paying £13m for him initially so it's not a huge loss.

Now that Origi is coming early surely Borini will accept a move to Sunderland. Supposedly offering 10 million for him. They were willing to pay 14 million in August. Borini had cost us 4 million with his refusal to leave in the summer transfer window!!

Liverpool seem to be in the business of wasting money these days. That's not great business.
We've had hits & misses like any club. From the summer just gone I'd say Lovren & Balotelli haven't worked out but Can, Lallana, Markovic & Moreno are starting to show why we paid the money for them and are looking like smart buys with big futures at the club. I can understand that it's more dramatic and might generate more clicks for people/journos to say that we wasted £100m+ than it is to say we wasted £36m though!

We're where we are right now because at this stage the 2 most critical signings from the summer haven't performed anywhere near expectation, not because all 8 haven't.

Wasn't talking about your young guys, too early to judge them. In Balo, Lovren and the 3mil for getting Origi back, that's 39 mil that you've essentially blown.

In regards to buying kids rather than established players, that's likely cost you another season in the Champions League. We all know how big a cash cow that is.

We'll recoup about 25 million for Lovren & Balotelli.

Rodgers has just come out and said no more buying kids.

Oldham by all accounts.

Not sure whats to be gained by not allowing him to work after his sentence.
Quite right. It was an ambiguous sentencing to begin with, and now that he's been imprisoned he has every right to be employed. Convicted paedophiles get a new name and a residence when they get out, why shouldn't Evans be allowed to work?

I'd understand if it was a more cut and dried case, but there was alcohol involved and nobody knows the truth aside from those present.

End of the day, he's served his time and has the right to work.
Mate, how are they cowards. They're hardly putting the guy in disguise.

How is the 3m for origi blown money? That was a condition of the original purchase. If he comes back and starts scoring then it's worth it and good business.

They're paying 3 million for their own player who has scored 3 goals in the French league (2 of which were penalties).

Not great business.

There's always an applicable fee payable though to break/recall a loan deal.

But not sure if £3m is a standard arrangement.
