He's not going to Chelsea and adidas won't pay for their cover athlete to be there.
They would, just as they would if he wanted to go to any adidas sponsored club. Turkish Airways would also chip in.

Of course Messi isn't going to Chelsea, it's all hypothetical discussion.

Apparently Goala Ameobi 'The Mackem Slayer' is back in Newcastle and looking for a new club with reports we may offer him a short term deal with Cisse away at the Cup of Nations and Chucky Ferreyra's loan looking like it could be terminated.

Milang_Panthers - the article I read mentioned Pardew is a big fan and might look to bring him to Selhurst Park. Something to get excited about mate! ;)

P.S - not from the greatest source, would take with a large pinch of salt.

We are being sponsored by adidas next season.

Messi would look good in red.

Seriously though with FFP who will be able to afford a £150m transfer fee?

Champions League prize money is going to double next season by all accounts. Worth an extra £20-30m to English clubs in it.

At £150m on a five year contract Messi would only cost £30m a year plus wages, so I think City, maybe Chelsea and United could manage it.

We'd have to be in the CL first. We could manage it outright now as technically we are making very good profits.

City will sell Lampard to Melbourne City FC for 150 million of the sheik ' s hard earned and then spend the "incoming" money on Messi. While loaning fat frank back to City at the same time. Job done.

Sounds a good plan. Or we could buy him to be a building at the new academy. And then loan him to the team.
