Kramaric expected in London today: he’ll join Leicester City in collaboration with Chelsea

whatever that means

probably should've read the article

Andrej Kramaric is ready to start the next chapter of his career in England. The Croatian striker will eventually join Mourinho at Chelsea, but his first stop will be at Leicester City Football Club. There are bureaucratic reason tied to the rules in England that make it necessary for Kramaric to go to Leicester City first, but the deal has been reached. Today the 23 year old striker will be in London with his agent Cavaliere: he'll sign with Leicester City by Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning, his medical is scheduled tomorrow. Leicester City will acquire Chelsea in collaboration with Chelsea: the two clubs already have an agreement for the future transfer of Kramaric to the Blues.

I wonder what the bureaucratic reasoning is. Really interesting idea.

I would have thought Kramaric is still a 3rd party deal if he has effectively been parked with Leicester pending a move to Chelsea.

I wonder if he will play against Chelsea, or will he have a slight knock that week?

Would Barca be happy to let him go without being able to get a replacement in?

Maybe, maybe not. Their board is a shambles and may value the Euro over the player.

What the **** does that mean? Do we own him outright but Chelsea get to buy him whenever they want?

That extra 3 million on the top of the original 10 million fee makes a 30% increase on what you paid for him originally.

He is unlikely to come in and score goals for you (he's failed to do it in a lesser league) so he's just an extra player in the squad. 3 million in itself is not a great deal but it was unnecessary. That can go to funding a new players wages for a year for instance.

Ideally, you would have done one of the following:

1. Don't loan him out to begin with. Was always unlikely as you paid decent for Balotelli and Lambert was back up.

2. Keep him on loan until the end of the season. You don't lose 3 mil for 5 months of playing someone with no real experience.

I'm not saying he won't be any good but he's unlikely to justify a 3 mil price tag for the rest of this season. It's just not good business to be losing money on players you already have.
Why do we keep talking about something that hasnt happened. We havent brought him back and probably wont. It's a non issue.

Apparently there's a rule that you can't buy a player and loan him to a follow EPL club in the same transfer window.

He'll have a clause in his contract saying he's off if your relegated or a CL team wants to buy him(with a buyout price already set) IMO.

Just not sure what leicester get out of that arrangement. I don't think chelsea can front any of the cash formthe transfer or wages as that woukd be illegal. They get the guarantee maybe of a sale price if it doesnt work out at Leicester, but they lose the chance of a player, or bigger profit if it's a success.

Can't see why leicester wouldnt just buy him themselves with no involvement from chelsea.

The way I see it is the player is keen on getting to Chelsea, while we are keen on him being in the EPL somewhere for the rest of the season getting plenty of game time and adjusting to the league and England.

Seems like he may be earmarked for Drogba's spot when he retires at the end of the season.

He is keen to get to Chelsea, why don't Chelsea just buy him and loan him to Leicester until the end of the season? Same effect and Leicester don't have to front up the transfer fee.

We can't buy him and loan him to someone else in the same league in the same window.

Nek minit he dominates and Leicester don't want to sell him or sell him to highest bidder.
