Mainly because his stint at Inter was utter shite.

Needs to rebuild his reputation from the ground up again really.
There was a fair bit of other shit going on at Inter at the time and they were hardly in a stable position as a football club.

I think that will prove to be an exception and he'll do well at Palace. What that looks like though I'm not sure. Perhaps challenging Everton for best of the rest outside the top 6?

barca are much more likely to try and get dembele from dortmund than coutinho to replace neymar if it eventuates.

there is a chance it happens too. psg have been after neymar for a while now. if they have indeed gotten a personal agreement then that buyout will soon make it's way to barca. would explain the desire to give dani alves double the money too.

Speaking of loans, I think we were getting linked to Ojo from Liverpool but seems he may be about to join Fulham?

We do need another wide player as we are pretty thin out wide.

Yeah I've read Boro are interested too. He's not on the tour to Hong Kong so a loan should be announced soon I think.

I reckon the Championship is about his standard. Not sure he'd start just yet but would be a handy backup.

In an attacking team like ours he'd play CDM and when the fullbacks ran forward he'd drop back to act as a sweeping CB until the fullbacks came back into defence.

Ok passer but barely does anything going forward, I'd say he's like Lucas-lite but doesn't foul people as much as Lucas.

The only goal I recall him getting was for the U23s against Spurs a shot or header from a corner I think.
Pretty much this SM

Has no real offensive side to his game. Tracks back, tackles well, good engine. Covers bombing full backs well and can slot back inbetween the CBs. Reads the game decently. Could start for you in the Championship. His distribution is alright too, I remember him against Barcelona IIRC just robbing Iniesta and then playing a perfect through ball for Firmino I think who scored in a pre-season friendly last season.

He'd be good value for you if it's 5M.

Oooh I hope that's true. Repairing the bridges we have burnt with Fulham would be a good start in our pursuit of Sessengnon.

It's easy to look back at those transfers in hindsight and criticise them. I also never said I am envious of the players they sign, more so in the way they conduct their business. Their targets are clear from before the window even begins and they seem to have no issues with getting them over the line because they don't haggle over a few million quid.

And for what it's worth, the only one I was overly critical of them signing for that fee at the time was Stones, but remember there was a point when both you and I wanted Stones to be a Chelsea player. Sterling was one of, if not the best young player on the planet at the time + the English factor. Mangala was bought for around something like £32m IIRC and was linked to several top clubs, including Chelsea. And right now, I would be happy if we coughed up £50m for Walker. Quality RBs are scarce and Walker is arguably the best RB in the PL who happens to be English. Give me that any day over Danilo who will cost us £30m and will probably need replacing in twelve months time because he stinks.

Sometimes if you just cough up that bit extra for quality, you won't find yourself trying to upgrade them every window. How much money have we spent trying to fix that right attacking side? Salah, Cuadrado, Willian, Schurrle, Pedro, etc. and we still haven't found a solution.

I just get the feeling that Chelsea are stubbornly unreceptive to the fact that the market is different these days. £30m is the new £10m, £50m is the new £30m, £75m is the new £50m etc. We still think we can buy the next Eden Hazard for £30m.

We are chucking 70m at a world class LWB so it's not like we aren't trying to spend a bit of dosh(plus we'll be making a big money CF buy to replace Costa). I can't complain to much about our spending as we do have a pretty good squad with a couple of holes which we should fill and it has been quite successful of late. We are behind the Manchester clubs in terms of spending, but so is everyone in the world of football.

To me, Willian and Pedro are good enough options for the RW and I'm happy to go into the season with them. 2 Wingbacks, CF and maybe a CM(though I'm more than happy for either Kyle Scott or Baker to get that position) and off we go again.

And who knows we could still end up with Danilo:(

44 days to go, plenty of time to fill our squad.

Over the whole Clint Dempsey things years ago. It's so hilarious that we even wanted to sign Dempsey, then ballsed it up so badly that Fulham no longer want to deal with us. I believe that's the only reason we havent already signed Sessegnon as apparently he is key target for Klopp but Fulham just wont budge. Not interested in us.

Stewart for Robertson is pretty much a straight swap? wow.

Yeah bit disconcerting, but they do say "could be up to" which I'm hoping includes promotion and appearances clauses. If it's, say, 4.5m + 500k for appearances + 3m for promotion, then I'm more ok with it.

I thought Sess also wanted to stay at Fulham?
