Everyone knows Spurs want Barkley and have cash to burn after flogging Walker for 50m.

Can see it going down like the Sissoko deal - with Levy being reamed.
Lol, doubt it, Barkley has less than a year to run on his contract, Everton are being extremely unreasonable.

Walker had 4 years left on his contract, why should we pay 50m for Barkley with 11 months to run on his deal? That's absolutely pathetic fund management.

Poch wanted the Sissoko deal done, he felt squad depth was light at the time, we all did, he wasn't great but at the time I'd rather have him than not have him. He was ok off the bench in some games and gave us some pace and width, but he was regularly poor whenever he started.

Barkley is different to Sissoko and more along the lines of Berahino. Berahino had 2 years on his deal left when we were after him, Levy didn't want to pay West Broms asking price and he walked away, West Brom ****** up there.

If Barkley is frozen out, I'd imagine we'll come back with a take it or leave it 10m lowballer in January, otherwise he goes on a free next year (not sure if he qualifies for Bosman or Tribunal)

Arsenal sold RVP and Nasri for around 20-22m each when they ran their contracts down. We all laughed at Arsene for selling them to rival teams but he got the deals done with fairly minimal fuss it seems once it became obvious they wanted out and they got a solid fee for each still. Fair play to Arsene there.

I'm sure Levy would pay about 25-30m for Barkley right now which imo is still a decent fee.

30m is too much for Barkley with 1 year left but what can you do. I got on him to join Spurs - better happen soon!!
30m is fairer than 50m, even though it's alot, just hope he's a good investment if that is the price we pay, I wouldn't want the club to pay any higher than that though, would be total bollocks with his contract running down.

How old is Barkley? If he's U23 still then he'd qualify for a tribunal fee, so that'd be what 12m if he ran his contract down? I'm sure the tribunal will set the maximum fee.

He's 24 in Dec so no tribunal fee if he ran his contract down.

It won't come down to that though. Plenty of clubs interested in Barkley. Very unlikely he isn't sold this window.

I feel Everton are playing a very dangerous game here, they don't hold many cards here.

It's posturing for sure, but saying 50m now is a dangerous precedent when your player clearly wants to move on with 11 months to run on contract.

I don't think anyone is taking 50m seriously. They'll accept 30m +.

Realistically, who would pay 35-45 for him, if Evertons asking price is a little lower?

Imo most of the top 6 wouldn't even bother except maybe Chelsea?

Can't see Everton selling their two best players to United in one window
Barkley probably doesn't fit in with Pep football
Everton wouldn't sell to their biggest rival in Liverpool
Arsene is normally tight with the purse, maybe he'd be watching this draw out, but I feel he'd think that price would be steep also

So imo just leaves Spurs and Chelsea really

Barkley is not good enough for a top 6 side IMO. But go for it Spurs.
Lol. Created more chances than any other u23 player in Europes top 5 leagues last season. He's plenty good enough. Can see him being a beast under Pochettino.

Apparently Jack Wilshere really wants to join us and we'll most likely make a loan move for him later in the window.

12 months left on his contract.

Apparently Barkley isn't demanding those wages and is actually injured which is the cause of the no pre season tour with Everton. Out for a month with a groom injury.

Just over 70m euros for Morata. You'd think that and whatever they make on Danilo is going straight to Monaco.

Reports in France from Julien Laurens said awhile ago that he wants to stay for game time, UCL football, be loyal to Monaco for another year for giving him the chance to play and to solidify his place in the WC squad for 2018.

As for replacing Morata, they have Mayoral coming back from Wolfsburg and he's tipped for big things and was promised a place in the squad this season too so don't see Mbappe to Madrid happening this year (or next year tbh). No doubt though that he eventually ends up there.
