Congrats to Chelsea on getting Man Uniteds 2nd choice target.

Man Uniteds 1st target was that guy from Atletico so they'll have to settle for sloppy 3rds.

Actually that AM guy had nothing to do with signing Lukaku.

Plus we'll get him within a year anyway.

Nah, what inflates the market is clubs paying £30m for dross like Sissoko. How could Madrid justify selling Morata to an English club for only £10m more?
Yeah in form players after major tournaments do that, Hummez Rodriguez anyone...

You sound a bit melty by the way ;)

Morata is overrated and not worth £58-70m, I'd be wanting PEA or Aguero for that price

Nice try, United will just pull out their ***** next year and spunk £135m to buy him.

Not melty in the slightest, just sick of Spurs fans crying poor about the big clubs inflating the market when they are just as responsible as anyone else.

Kind of wondering if Chelsea wanted someone similar to Costa they should've looked at someone like Willian Jose from Real Sociedad

He's probably not "prestigious" enough, but I can see him being a beast sooner rather than later and he'll probably end up at Atletico or Sevilla and hammer in the goals there.

Morata wasn't first choice at any of the clubs he played for and regularly was fed by far superior midfielders/wingers at both clubs and his goals to game ratio was bang average at Juve, he wasn't even 1 in 4 there and he was preferred there more at times than he was at RM. The players that Spurs sell and buy were first choice starters, Morata was not.

Morata was competent back up at Juve and RM, but imo his development as a player is far from complete, imo he'll get a rude shock at Chelsea having to play up front on his own, a position imo he hasn't played much before, wouldn't surprise me if Batshuayi is preferred to him at some stage this season.

apparently pep sees danilo as someone who can play right back, left back and midfield. everyone else just says he's out of position.
Has the deal been completed yet? He has played all those before. I am sure Pep will work wonders exploring his versatility. Few players are equally effective in multiple positions.

£58m plus add ons. Will end up around £70m if they are met.

Should fit our style so happy with him.
I'm sure the add ons will be met swiftly. His price was supposed to soar even higher when Dortmund failed to sell Aubumayeng, lucky you managed to get him for that price. He was the most sort after striker in the world.

Fair enough, but imo you're overpaying

He's a £40m striker tops

All transfers like this do is further inflate the market
His CL record and strike rate make other players look like donuts. We should've held out for more but Perez obviously has respect Roman.

Morata's team also didn't get relegated to the championship and desperately need the money. Madrid didn't need to sell him so could demand a higher price.

There is no possible scenario where you can argue that Sissoko for 30m was better value for money than Morata for 58 imo.

Interesting to see how Morata goes for Chelsea.

Bit of a downgrade from Diego Costa who's perfect for Chelsea's system.

I think Morata while he wont be as prolific as Costa he'll be better suited to our system with the style of striker he is. His link up play and touch on the ball is better imo.

He may have been 1 in 4 but he did score a goal for every 76 minutes he played also and his shots for goals ratio was the best in La Liga.

Hes certainly got big shoes to fill but its far to early to be writing him off and i have enough faith in Conte to know he knows what hes doing.

Lol, please

If Man Utd really wanted him, they would've paid up. He wasn't worth the fee and it seems RM was happy to sell (ie not really a required player), when you're the best team in the world, you can do things your own way.

Lol, please dude. His Juve league record says otherwise and he played heaps of football upfront with Tevez or Dybala. Wonder what RM will have to shell out for Mbappe or Kane then when they come calling then if you think his strike rate was so good?

He's had one above average season, a season where RM arguably had their greatest ever season in their history (winning the league and CL). Imo he should've went to a Villarreal/Valencia/Sevilla and became their main man before a big move like this.

I'm not writing him off, but this year he may struggle.

As I said before, imo his development is incomplete and he should've went to a Sevilla/Villarreal/Valencia instead some time beforehand to further his development.

Yep. We aren't ruining football in this instance.
