we've announced danilo.

So Danilo has swapped not playing for Real Madrid for not playing for Manchester City? Wow.

if kolarov can make 39 appearances and navas 36 i think danilo might be able to get a few.

GK: Ederson (£35m) / Bravo (£17m)
RB: Walker (£50m) / Danilo (£26.5m)
LB: Mendy (£51m)
CB: Stones (£50m)/Otamendi (£28.5m)/Mangala (£42m)

£300m on the defence, you'd want it to end up the stiffest in the league with that outlay.

Even with all the money spent that defence hardly looks like it will be racking up clean sheets.

Interesting to see if Pep reminds journalists that he won 21 titles in the last 7 seasons like he did during press conferences last pre season. Surely has to win the league with the most expensively assembled team of all time.

In fairness, it looks a lot better than it did last season.

You'd sure hope it does.
Reckon they'll have the 3rd/4th best defence. Rate ours, United's and chelsea's as better personally.

score more than the other side every game and it doesnt really matter all too much.

Then why spend so much on defence? Clearly someone at City cares.

well we kind of didnt have any senior full backs and hadn't spent money on one since 2012 so...

maybe clubs should ask for less money?

Or bought promising young full backs from the Championship/PL and developed them to take over when your full backs left?

but we dont need to do that. im sure people would find a way to whinge about it either way.

You don't need to, but it seems to make more sense than ending up with another Bravo/Mangala/Otamendi sized mistake.

no club gets every transfer right. not every young promising player develops.

Do this for their whole squad.
They'd have to have the most exp squad ever assembled in footy.
Yet they are still shite. Which suggests there's something wrong with their club culture.

Not sure I suggested they do. Just thought that with the amount you're throwing around, investing in youth as your back up instead of spending such ridiculous fees would make more sense. The club has the money, but it does have a flow on effect to the game in general. Things are getting crazy.

Yeah those 2 PL titles this decade compared to Liverpool's 0 along with an appearance in the UCL semis surely suggest a massive culture problem.
