City just taking the piss now. I thought the whole idea behind getting Pep was to they wouldn't have to do this and they could get success on the back of his philosophy, coaching and ability to fast track young players?

If they don't win the league this season then it's nothing other than a monumental failure.

Finishing 3rd so far behind and getting smashed by Monaco in the UCL last season was a monumental failure. They aren't winning the title any time soon because Pep's playing style won't work in England. In Spain and Germany (and in European competition), you always get time on the ball. In England when you have managers like Tony Pulis, Poch, Klopp, Conte, Silva and Dyche and now Pellegrino and Wegner, you aren't going to be able to do much with the ball.

you need the right players to fit a philosophy. why have all this money and then give a top coach players that arent good enough? no club would do that, otherwise it's a waste of everyone's time.

nearly every player that pep has coached in his career speaks incredibly highly of him. very few players get worse because they coached him.

last one still needs to be addressed, but that's more an attitude at the club that needs shifting.

Yeah super difficult when you get unlimited funds to buy pretty much any player you like, even with the £10,000,000 Citeh tax.

Sam Allardyce would win you the league with that m8.

Yet Pep needs this to even be competitive, would like to see him coach Arsenal, Tottenham or Liverpool and see what he does.

Just saying.

A truly exceptional coach should be able to get Everton to win the league within two seasons, I can't see the fraud doing that. :$

10 players gone or about to be gone from last years senior squad. Nearly 200 league appearances between those players last season. 5 players in so far. I'm sure there will be some more.

FWIW I think we have 3 kids ready to be a part of our senior squad. None of them as regular starters. Maffeo and Garcia will spend a season in La Liga with Girona. Tosin hopefully will go out on loan where he can play most weeks rather than spend a season as our 4th or 5th choice.

Much better for their development, and if the price of that is people moaning every time we buy a player so be it.

I don't know why anyone would care what Guardiola would achieve at Everton unless he was the manager of Everton.

We have the resources to buy good players and we expect success with those players.

Why would we care if he could work well at a different club with different players and a different level of resources?

Because he is supposedly this amazing goat manager, when everyone knows he's a fraud.

Allan Shearer could have managed those Barcelona and Bayern Munich sides and won titles.

Rightio boss. [emoji106]
Fraudiola couldn't manage Everton, would be lucky to get Arsenal, Tottenham or Liverpool into the top 4, let alone looking competitive.

Might succeed at Man. Utd. cause there willing to drop some coin.

But hey that's just my opinion.

Good thing we didnt hire him to manage one of those other clubs then.

I'll judge him on what he does at the club he's actually employed at.

Pep got lucky with that group of la masia juniors who went on to play for the Barca senior team. The real architect of Barca's success is Johan Cruyff who setup la masia and adopted the "total football" philosophy that was a success at Ajax. I still think Pep will do well this season cos he is bringing in his own players

I suspect Leipzig would rather sell him outside the Bundesliga if it comes down to it so that shouldn't matter if all 3 parties are in agreeance.
If it comes down to it Leipzig doesn't have a say.
