Will be interesting to see how City go defensively this season. Thats about £350m on the defenders in the last 3 years isnt it?
Doubt we've spent much more than £350m on defenders since the takeover.

But you've definitely spent 50m on individual defenders. Twice now.

Unless I've missed someone it's just over £200m over the last 6 windows. Otamendi, Stones and this summers three.

Mangala the summer before.

You've spent £50m on keepers. £130m on FBs. £76m on CBs.

= £256m

No. Leicester getting rinsed.
Not wrong. Much as I'd love it, Leicester lose the better player, and pick up the bigger wages tab.

Arsenal fans: "Show me where to sign!!!"

LCFC fans: "Errrr...no."

Everton have made a 2nd bid of 45M for Siggy.

I know transfer prices are inflated ATM, but that is a hell of a lot of money.

Swansea have rejected it & holding out for £50 million. I hoped we'd walk away after £40mil was rejected, really hope we just let it go now

Not really, he just reads other peoples tweets then posts them as his own news. And deletes them when he gets it wrong.
Yep along with every other Sky Journo.

If you follow the right people on Twitter, you'll usually find out something hours before Kavel will tweet about it and then say Sky Sources...

That's the problem buying from a relegation threatened team and trying to get their star player.

Could you play both him and Klassen in the same starting lineup also, as they're both CAM's really.

you need the right players to fit a philosophy. why have all this money and then give a top coach players that arent good enough? no club would do that, otherwise it's a waste of everyone's time.

nearly every player that pep has coached in his career speaks incredibly highly of him. very few players get worse because they coached him.

last one still needs to be addressed, but that's more an attitude at the club that needs shifting.

10 players gone or about to be gone from last years senior squad. Nearly 200 league appearances between those players last season. 5 players in so far. I'm sure there will be some more.

FWIW I think we have 3 kids ready to be a part of our senior squad. None of them as regular starters. Maffeo and Garcia will spend a season in La Liga with Girona. Tosin hopefully will go out on loan where he can play most weeks rather than spend a season as our 4th or 5th choice.

Much better for their development, and if the price of that is people moaning every time we buy a player so be it.
Fair enough. I wasn't so much remarking on the money spent, that's just the nature of modern football, moreso the fact that on the face of it this approach seems to contradict many of the reasons why you signed Pep in the first place. Or perhaps they were just external assumptions and this was always the plan when he signed.

Do you both agree that, after this window, that anything other than a league win is a complete failure? Or is the league far too competitive at the top end these days to make it that absolute?

City probs favourites now for me. Having a great summer.

Still like us for top four though. Keita is a no go though, super disappointing.
This is entirely predicated on the notion that the more money you spend and the more players you sign, the better window you've had and the better you will be in the coming season. It often doesn't work like that.

Mahrez to Arsenal rumours back again.

Straight swap for Walcott a fair deal ?

Yes please. Would jump at the chance of that deal, and would throw in Coquelin, Debuchy etc as well.

In fact just take them, anyone. Please.
