The last few pages have been "this shit". I think you hate being reminded that you operate on a massively increased budget to the rest of us.Yay. This shit again.
To be fair, you've just spent 750M on a new stadium, so it's no real surprise Spurs aren't active in the transfer market currently. The last few pages have been "this shit". I think you hate being reminded that you operate on a massively increased budget to the rest of us.

Same here. I never understood what's so hard for the City and Chelsea fans on here to hold their hands up and say "fair play, we are lucky bastards - it sucks and isn't fair but that's how it goes".
That's only good if you've got both an owner and manager that wants to spend. Arsenal's owners are worth a crapton, yet they don't spend like mad.Same here. I never understood what's so hard for the City and Chelsea fans on here to hold their hands up and say "fair play, we are lucky bastards - it sucks and isn't fair but that's how it goes". If and when Spurs get bought out by a Mansour kind of character I wouldn't try to make some BS excuse for our spending at every turn. Everyone knows exactly what it is and it only makes you look slightly deluded when you try to defend it constantly.
Was a reasonable discussion on Spurs transfer policy. Will it work long term. Would it work at other clubs with different expectations. The last few pages have been "this shit". I think you hate being reminded that you operate on a massively increased budget to the rest of us.
We will be though. More than a month to goTo be fair, you've just spent 750M on a new stadium, so it's no real surprise Spurs aren't active in the transfer market currently.
Expecting a last minute Levy special again? We will be though. More than a month to go
This is what Poch does. Assesses the squad in preseason, gives the youth a chance to impress and if they don't then buys players.Expecting a last minute Levy special again?
It's not really been part and parcel of football since day 1 though. You've always had your big clubs and your medium clubs and your small clubs but their was a much greater chance for teams without a big pedigree to have success before. Since the Sky 4 cane along and then City bought into that club it's been a closed shop. I'm sorry but it's not healthy and unless you are a fan of those two or three clubs who can spend what they like then it's going to leave a bad taste. And it's for that very reason that I don't want to see Spurs have unlimited funds for players and wages because I don't believe it's fair. That's my opinion and it should be respectedWhen Sergio Aguero slammed in that 93rd min title winner, and when full kit ****** lifted up the Champions League trophy, I'm sure all the supporters of those club could think of was "I hope one day we can balance the books like Spurs".
What Levy seems to be missing here is that yes it's important to live within your means, but every club's financial situation is different and what may be ludicrously reckless spending for a club like Tottenham may be well within the means of a club like City or Chelsea. Likewise what may be well within budget for Tottenham may be considered ludicrously reckless spending for a club like Bournemouth. The richest clubs have always outspent the rest and inevitably ended up with the best players, and that started long, long before oil money came into the game.
It's irritating for supporters to know that in the long run your chances of silverware are limited if you don't follow one of those top wealthy clubs, but that's part & parcel of football and has been since day 1.
I actually think we are in danger of going the other way. I don't think we are in a position to upgrade many if any of our starters - but we need more depth. Can't rely on untried youth if we get a bit of an injury crisis (which we are due in all fairness). We need at least three decent signings in the next two and half weeks (or before end of august I expect)Was a reasonable discussion on Spurs transfer policy. Will it work long term. The kind if discussions we used to have on here with people willing to talk about football.
No-one was having a go at Spurs or what they've achieved over the past couple if years.

Think there will have to be a few in the next weeks. Expect a RB in, maybe a Barkley and then a bit of depth.I actually think we are in danger of going the other way. I think they have. Having sat on both sides of the fence, you don't have to win something to achieve. Otherwise most clubs supporters wouldnt have any hope at all.In fairness, they've not actually achieved anything.
If that happened I wouldn't complain. Think we might need a back-up striker as well though.Think there will have to be a few in the next weeks. Expect a RB in, maybe a Barkley and then a bit of depth.
I know he's a troll I suppose he makes some sort of point. For some, winning is everything and that means lifting trophies. I would rather lose playing with some style than win ugly though (although to be fair you'd probably start to get pissed off if that continually happened). I think it's an exciting time to be a Spurs fan. I think it's fair to say the Spurs fan base is a lot more optimistic about things currently than the United one isI think they have. I've said it before that my hope for City was that one day I'd see us in a final at Wembley. Not even win it, just play in it. Winning the league wasnt even a consideration.
Other than that escaping relegation, top 10, qualifying for Europe, stuff like that are real achievements for supporters.
How long Spurs fans will be happy doing well, finishing near the top but coming up short is another thing. The stadium probably gives them a bit of leeway where expectations get dampened a bit while they can see long term improvements being made.
Ah Rangnick, there's no xenophobia like German xenophobia
Yeah, nothing apart from consistently improving their Academy; their training facilities; their rise up the PL table - a metronomic rise up the PL table - consistently outperforming every other club who spends considerably more on transfers and wages except for the fabulous (but clearly one off) achievement of Leicester, Tottenham Hotspur are the very model of what success looks like.In fairness, they've not actually achieved anything.
Palace bid 3M for Adrian, we want 7M for him at least.
We've also apparently accepted a 7M bid from Boro for Ashley Fletcher.

Except, in this insane world, it doesn't. In this world spending the GDP of entire nations on transfers and wages is somehow the benchmark. Winning stuff because you've spent more than everyone else does not make Pep Guardiola a great manager. This window has just made him look an utter fraud - like United's spending has made Mou a fraud. If these guys can't manage a team without buying it outright then they ain't no Fergie - and should be treated with contempt. BY THEIR OWN SUPPORTERS.
But what depresses me most is the Arsenal fans who want to jump onto the Oil billions gravy train. They set the benchmark - they bought an paid for their future properly. Yet their fans are so quick to be wanting to spend billions just so they can keep up with the whores running things. Such a shame. Whoring themselves to pay Ozil's wage? Really?! FFS! Wenger was always better than this - his club's fans not so much...
If Tottenham have achieved anything, it's selling Kyle Walker to Moomba's club for £50 million and double his wages. I've always loved Kyle for all his faults; Moomba has never had anything but contempt for him. That's football for the kind of club run by oil billionaire slavers. Get used to it.
