Drinkwater is a Mikel/Chalobah replacement. I doubt hed be happy to play 4th fiddle over starting every week where he is. Would rather Baker just hang around, the kids a talent.

Barkley wouldnt fit in our team so i doubt we have any interest.

Their current squad is very light on home grown players, only 2-3 senior players by my count. Will need to add a few or rely on U21s.

We usually rely on the u21s. Christensen, Musonda, Boga etc

This is my problem with the home grown rule. These guys should be out playing senior football somewhere rather than staying in a squad/backup role because they're needed to make up the numbers.

I dunno, if they are going to have a HG rule I'd rather fill it will academy kids either before they are ready for loans or coming back from them ready to fight for a spot rather than just buying English squad fillers like Drinkwater, Delph, Barkley etc

Not great for their careers though, sitting in the stands and playing U23's/odd 1st team appearance. Musonda and Christensen in particular should be playing senior football now.

I understand why Chelsea do it,I just think the rule doesn't do what it was meant to do.

I guess the alternative for us is to spend £50m on English players which I'd prefer not to do. Half decent English players are ridiculously overpriced, as you would know.

Rather at least try and develop the kids, if they want out(like Ake and Chalobah) they'll be helped to where they want to go. I dont think it hurts their developmemt much.

TBH Wenger deserves credit for turning him into a cracking wingback by the end of last season. Put in some quality performances and was part of a much more stable defensive unit. His performance at LWB in the Cup final was outrageous.

Not sure which of Ox or Bellerin starts on MD1. Could be a reason for Ox wanting out.

Yep. I don't know why he wants to be a CM when wingback looks where he's best suited. He was great there in that cup final.

Theres no doubt thats where his future lies IMO.

We didn't have a say in Chalobah though, we wants to play every week and he couldn't do that with us.

That 4th CM spot is hard to fill.

If true, £100m as a starting bid should definitely get FSG's attention.

An extra £10m on VVD. An extra £10m on Keita. £30m off the stadium debt and you've still got £50m+ for a Coutinho replacement.

Would turn Liverpool into a real threat.

Selling your best players never really turns you into a threat. Barca can try all they like. I just dont think we will sell. Particularly this late in the window.

We already know we cant get Keita so an extra 10 million will mean nothing.

Hopefully we've learnt our lesson about not selling late without a decent replacement but expect Being Liverpool. Love Coutinho but anything over 100 has to be considered for sure, less than 12 months ago there were arguments he wasn't in our best team. Would love him as part of our attack but is probably the easiest to replace of our main threats.

Huh? He'd the hardest to replace. He's the guy who pulls all the strings. Not to mention he's a big game player.

The problem with 100m is that we've seen from this window that it doesnt get you very much. We still wont get Keita and who in world football, even if we threw the whole 100 million at could we get right now to fill the hole Coutinho would leave.

It's just not good business. Particularly considering we just dont need the 100 million dollars. I mean we've quite clearly got stack of money, we were just throwing 70-80 at RB Leipzig for Keita.

No way we sell. But Being Liverpool could still yet happen.
