Tv companies exchange money to the FA to broadcast the premier league and liverpool get some of this money (About 1/20) of it as well as companies paying money to "sponsor" the team.

What you are saying is all contracts should have a buyout clause like what is required in Spain.

A player could still move for less than the buyout clause but only after both seller / buyer agree terms.

Clubs are happy to force out unwanted players (Sahko for example). They shouldnt have all the power imo.

It's not as if the player has all the power either. The buying club still has to meet the asking price.

Might help in a situation like VVD's that the club not give him permission to talk to other clubs and then decide not to sell because of an unrealistic transfer fee expectation (Soton sources have been leaking a mooted £70m fee all summer). They should have said right from earlier this year that there was no chance of them selling him which would have avoided the current situation.

On the same token you also can't just have players expecting to leave after submitting a transfer request. I find it unlikely that your club would let Kevin De Bruyne leave if he suddenly decides to put a transfer request in the last week of the transfer window as a player like him is very difficult to replace. Perhaps a solution for VVD is he plays for the next season and agrees a deal in summer 2018 although he is pretty pissed off about the incorrect claims of refusing to train / play.

Both sides have stuffed this one up big time, the problem for VVD is the club he wants to join (LFC) has now moved on because of the supposed £70m transfer fee demands.

I think he''ll be a Chelsea player for around 55-60m shortly with no other real options (City interest seems to be just about driving his transfer fee up). I am not comfortable signing a player after a long running saga like this myself personally.

If KDB formally asked to leave, I'd have no problrm with the club saying to all interested parties "this is the fee". If you pay it he's yours.

It would avoid all the bullshit, that usually ends up with the same outcome except everyones reputation has suffered.
