I can't believe how many times I've read sell Coutinho next summer and replace him with Keita.

Isn't Keita more a box to box CM type and not really a playmaker?
They'll get Keita next summer like they said they'd get Dahoud this summer.
It's now or never imo on that front.

I believe that Barca is definitely interested in Coutinho and it looks like he's prepared to agitate for the move. If his side is behind the stories then yeah, looks like he's prepared for it to get messy. Much like Van Dyke, much like Keita (although I'm guessing you think thats down to the player, not Liverpool).

Clubs don't have to instruct players and agents how to force their way out of a club. Coutinho knows Barca want him, and if Liverpool won't willingly let him go then he has a few options to speed things along.

You honestly think that Barca are clean in this?

I think they've made it pretty obvious to Coutinho and Dembele that they are wanted. I'm not sure they've done a whole lot more than you see every summer.

Don't think they need to do a lot more than that. Players and agents play the game as well as anyone.

What I don't agree with is this notion of blaming everything on Barca, particularly when you don't blame your own club when a player agitates for a move to you. Players need to take responsibility for their own actions.

From the sounds Mangala will stay in the first team squad but Bony, Nasri and Denayer won't be part of it.

Zinchenko also likely to move on loan to Napoli will an option to buy at the end of the loan.

Foden added to the first team squad full time, I think Brahim has been as well.

We've done business with Barca but never like this in the past. Transfers have generally been amicable with none of the underhand tactics Barca are clearly employing this time being used in the past. Clearly they are desperate to replace Neymar which happened totally out of the blue. They even had an unveiling lined up for him on Friday and were stunned when LFC made it clear they were not doing business with them this window. Generally we usually are willing to do business but not for a player like Coutinho at short notice. Lallana out for 2 months makes it even more important to retain Coutinho this season and ultimately sell him post Brazil 2018 for a huge fee.

FWIW it seems we would be happy to sell Coutinho for £137m going off ITK Liverpool sources. If Barca really want him as much as they appear to then I don't see why they can't get it done after just pocketing £200m.

I'm not sure I believe the Barca unveiling story any more than I believed the Neymar ambassador story.

Spin works both ways and Liverpool more than any club are not averse spinning a transfer to make our they're always the victims/innocent party.

In the new stadium next season the wages will (should) rise with the increased money brought in

Don't think Levy believe spending that sort of money on a player is sustainable.

It's not when your renting a stadium or playing in one that holds 36,000

That's the whole point of moving into the biggest stadium in London

Not in this case. Factual information has been consistent from the start coming from club mouthpieces. They've kept very quiet about such a high profile deal.

One of the reasons why his comments about other clubs spending were a bit silly. If you have the money, you can afford to pay more.

Like Coutinho hadn't handed in a transfer request?

Club mouthpieces say what the club wants them to say. To put any sort of trust in what they say is a bit naive IMO.

He was never that specific with his comments. I didn't take it as right now it's not sustainable more that if prices keep going the way they are eventually expenditure is going to go far beyond incomes

apparently ajax have rejected a 36.5 mil bid from spurs for davinson sanchez

If they got that one over the line, it'd be a great signing for them. Can play CB, RB and DM and was superb for Ajax last year in Europe too. Honestly surprised your mob aren't trying to make a play for him.

Was reading earlier that his CB partner De Ligt (or something like that) might be the better long term bet. Haven't seen either play though.

Both of them are good long term bets in regards to becoming world class defenders one day, but Sanchez is more mature physically and has more experience. De Ligt will need another year or two to get to where Davinson is now.

What's happened to Joel Veltman? We were very keen early in the window. Maybe they guessed the wrong player that we were tracking

Coutinho handed in the transfer request after training on Friday. As soon as the club received it club mouthpieces reported it. So not sure what your point is.
