Posted this a week ago - things have obviously changed re: Coutinho and my guess is that he's off.

It becomes a huge issue for the club when good sources report that the player has handed in a transfer request and/or is at odds with the manager. Coutinho is irreplaceable for Liverpool right now and I genuinely hope they shove it up Barca and hang onto him. But this is not far off becoming a real issue for Klopp, and a decision might have to be made even if it's against the club's best interests on-field.

We're fortunate that Sanchez hasn't (yet, anyway) gone down this path. How Wenger has kept it civil and calmed the situation is anyone's guess.

The reason Sanchez hasn't gone down that path is that he only has a year left on his contract and will leave for free next year. He'd be acting like a real campaigner if he had 5 years left

Football players on 80k a week bitching they don't get paid enough. Makes them look reallllll good.

It's all relative.

Our bid for Marvin Johnson has resulted in him handing in a transfer request. Seems highly rated so bodes well.

This is why I really think the window should shut before the season starts. They've had months to figure this out, it shouldn't be a distraction in the opening weeks of a new season.
This will happen next season apparently.

All 20 clubs in agreement.

Apparently Watford were the only ones with reservations.

Either way, it's the smart move.

Weird the pl will be one out on this. Not even the football league following them?
PL clubs still have weeks to loan out surplus players to those levels though

Makes sense that they wouldn't, lets PL clubs prioritise incomings rather than outgoings.

Soldado replacement then

He won't get much time in CM with us so it doesn't really make sense. He'd be bought as a wingback to compete with Moses. CM for emergencies only as we will have Baka, Kante and Cesc.

Will Wenger even sell him to us?
Yep this one is really confusing me. I guess he has come to terms with being a wingback and thinks he has more chance of beating Moses to a starting spot than Bellerin?

I don't want to sell him but £35m for a fringe player is hard to turn down.

I have never been super impressed by Ox. He's always just looked OK to me. If you told me at the start of the window we would be paying 35m for him I would've spewed, but this is the situation we find ourselves in.

I feel as though Arsenal have all the power now, which shouldn't be the case considering his contract is almost up. You could probably squeeze another 10m out of us. You don't need to sell him but we are desperate.

Yeah it's especially pertinent now as he wants to move to get himself a spot for the 2018 World Cup. If he doesn't do it this window I think he might sign a new deal with Arsenal as moving next window makes even less sense (squad will be picked by then), so you can't necessarily just wait the 12 months and get him on a free.

I think it gets done for 35 if you are legit, it's just too good to turn down and could fund us trying to get Thomas Lemar or Jean-Michael Seri which would strengthen us much more than losing Ox would weaken us.

Hopefully Wenger doesn't hate us as much anymore now that Mourinho has gone.

Wheres our 250m warchest?
There isn't one. Don't believe everything you read. Our warchest ended up being 35mil (net).

Bacca to Villareal and Kalinic to Milan to happen soon.

Will be linked with Renato Sanches and PEA until the end of the market, Not sure if they can be done though, Especially PEA, Although there is talk about Dortmund looking for a striker at the moment.

Good luck signing PEA if Dembele goes.

Monaco are very unlikely to sell Lemar at any price if Mbappe goes as expected.

We'll see, he is still there and Madrid have pulled out now it seems. PSG the main suitors but they have just dropped 200m on Neymar, I don't think anything is guaranteed. Still a long way to go before this window is over you can't be sure of any players future.

80 percent of Barca fans were against the Paulinho transfer according to a Mundo Deportivo survey.

You have to worry about the 20% who were happy with the transfer!

Some talk that Barca could activate Asensio's buyout clause. Now that would result in some huge melts. Real supposedly trying to get him to sign a new contract with a buyout clause bigger than Messi' s.
