Great move.

Isn't his release like 3-4m or something?
I think we'll be trying to get him for 3m so may well be.

But yes very excited.

Neither of those things are true.

my understanding is technically the neymar part is indeed true

PSG's board are working to find the best formula so that the payment of the 222 million euros will not conflict with UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FPF) rules.

The owners of the Parisian club are exploring the possibility of a personal sponsorship agreement with Neymar via Oryx Qatar Sports Investments, its investment fund which is in fact the governing body of PSG, a Qatari property.

They would pay for it or a business partner.Given Neymar's undeniable publicity streak, they believe he could justify himself to the UEFA Club Financial Control Committee and, given that it would be the player who received the money, the 222m would not impact on the club's accounts

They havent even bought Mbappe,

i know, they are about to buy Fabinho / Mbappe

his current manager wants to play him this weekend.

wanting is irrelevant though

That psg info is irrelevant. The transfer is done, Barca have the money. They can't now figure out where it comes from.

Incorrect; neymar was a 'free transfer'... mbappe is a loan... indeed they have made money this window

They have only bought Yuri of Real Sociedad as a back up left back who was quite cheap in this market. Alves was a free transfer. Astute management by the Parisians

:thumbsu:
ah, didn't realise PSG had done it as a loan. fair play

from a 'FFP' perspective its important thought

Bought himself out funded by money from PSG's owners.

Good luck trying to put that through the books as a "free" transfer.

the money wasnt from PSG ... some sources are claiming, anyway

ah, didn't realise PSG had done it as a loan. fair play

i think itll (mbappe) be a loan with an obligation to buy ... to further get around the FFP

It doesn't matter if the money didn't come from PSG's accounts. It came from PSG's owners. And a condition of Neymar accepting it to buy out his contract was signing a new one for PSG.

There is no way the buyout clause payment escapes FFP and it is highly embarrassing for PSG to argue otherwise (if they actually are).

So you claim. Did you know PSG own / hired the guys that wrote the FFP rules? (lol)

theyll be fine

They'll be fine because they are selling off their players to cover this year's amortization of Neymar' s contract (£40m a season for 5 seasons).

FFP does not allow an owner to buy a player with his own money and claim it as a "free transfer" on the club books.

Neymar was paid 300M to be an ambassador for the Qatar WC, With that money he bought himself.

Loophole on the century.

Also this transfer market is one for the ages.

Nobody buys that nonsense including UEFA.

The only way the whole Neymar thing would have been legit is if there was no agreement for him to sign a new contract with PSG if the Arabs funded his buyout clause. That's simply not the case.

The people the paid him are probably connected to qatar sports investments, the group that owns PSG. It was all a move to "sweeten" the idea of him moving there.

They would have sold most of the deadwood in the squad one way or another

can you show me in the documentation where it says that?

your probable right yet football is very corrupt obviously

psg is too big to fail

uefa will buy it

at worse it will cost a few bribes. at best they are technically following the rules

why u mad? I assume its the Coutinho to Barca ramifications. Bad luck old bean

Yeah it certainly has been something else, just the money being spent now has become pretty ridiculous

Of course UEFA will buy it. It's not like they haven't penalised PSG severely for cheating FFP rules in the past.

Think Llorente would actually be a great signing for you guys at that price, provides that perfect plan B off the bench if Morata isn't working. Similar to the way Giroud won us so many points off the pine last season. More of a point of difference than Bats provides.

I'd by pretty happy to get Llorente, he's still a decent option to have in the squad at 32. We need 3 strikers so this would make sense.

Plus it would also remove a competitor to Tammy, which is great for him and his development.

Swansea will be very hard to deal with. Look at how the Gylfi transfer played out. And Llorente is even more important to them now.

Few reports that Spurs won't be following up interest in Sancho for now.

Few possibilities there.

1. We won't release him so he can't play until his scholarship ends.

2. He's asking too much (apparently was after £30k from us)

3. Spurs will do a Zeki Fryers to try and get out of paying a fee/having a sell on.
I've read that he wants to come to us and we want him, but City won't accept 3m for him as they believe they can get more at a tribunal and Levy won't accept the massive sell-on and maybe even a buy-back clause that City want.

Hopefully this still gets done when either the clubs stop playing silly buggers or at a tribunal.

If it was me I'd be more worried about the sellon clause than the initial fee. I'd be asking minimum 30% in the confidence a tribunal will give us 20%.

The way fees are going nowadays, that could be quite significant sums.
