Unfortunately that's what squad players are going for these days in this market.

Jonny Evans is likely to go for £30m with 100k wages. Compared to that AOC seems totally reasonable.

Home grown also adds a premium.
No ones paying Evans 100k a week and he'll be a starter wherever he ends up.

Southampton fleecing Liverpool if they get 75mill for that centre half. Well played by them. Waited until they got desperate and spunked top price.
What's your excuse for pogb?

I heard in 24 hours.

Its all wrapped up apparently for tomorrow with the fee higher than Dembele's. Barca need him now
Are you credible though?

Stoked with 35m (rising to 40m according to Ornstein) for Ox, squad player sold for our record outgoing fee :thumbsu:

Unfortunately aside from that it's chaos at the Gunners. Club brief Ornstein that we have no money to spend and no replacement for Ox is lined up, we are holding onto Sanchez unless a replacement (strongly suggested to be Lemar) can be bought before the window closes, with no other incoming's planned.

The "no money" thing sounds ridiculous, however looking at it glass half full it has been explained that our current squad size and ridiculous wage structure is a massive issue and by being cheapskates now we are potentially setting ourselves up for something of a rebuild in 2 years time when Wenger finally leaves. This twitter thread explains it pretty well:

Juve going to have one last crack at Can but the feeling is he will come over in the next window
Interesting one this. Talk Can is close to agreeing a new deal although he'll probably want the same 120k wage package as The Ox (and rightly so). Can't imagine that Juve will be paying higher wages although anything is possible on a free contract. He's definitely in some good form right now on the pitch.

Juve to miss out on their target by being cheapskates again? Not the first time that's happened.

LFC have been cheapskates with Can' s new deal. Believe our last offer was an 80k package (60k + 20k in bonuses weekly
y).

We have just given the ox a total wage package of 120k / week. Can will be expecting the same offer on his deal and rightly so.

If you give Ox 120k then Can (even though I don't rate him that highly) should be on 200.

I think the ox is actually not a bad transfer at all. 5-10m over priced but just the sort of player you need in your squad with a season of potentially 60 games plus.

Good example is last season in January. He would have been real handy when we had Mane away, Cout & Lallana both out and the rest of the squad knackered.

While I agree with you, that's essentially what he's been at Arsenal, and apparently, that's not what he wants. Clearly someone has promised him CM time, and he's been reasonable there on the few occasions Wenger played him in central midfield. But I'll be curious to see what he does when he's not a starting CM every week at Liverpool.
