That was a last week. Apparently we've upped it to £61m and are still negotiating. Really need Sandro to push for the move and it'll happen.
According to the club he hasn't even submitted a request yet and Juve have put a increased wage offer on the table. Unless he really wants to leave can't see us parting with him for less than £70m

Yep. The only way he leaves is by putting in a transfer request.

Fair enough

Agree. Not very astute though. Finding gems is great but a proven gun for cheap could make all the difference.
I'll be happy just getting through the window having told City to get bent and find a RB elsewhere. You'd know about selling them fullbacks ;)

It's always easy to have an opinion on signings in July, are any of our signings absolute world beaters? No, because we can't sign any world beaters since we're not in the CL.

They're good players though and what it should do for our club is close the gap on the top 6 and widen the gap from 8th, whilst providing more depth for cup runs and a run in the Europa league.

The only time I'll say we can make top 5 with this squad is when the window slams shut and we still have Lukaku and I can assume even Liverpool supporters would agree with that statement, if we lose Lukaku that's going to hinder us in the short term.

But for a club that has literally been on a shoestring budget for decades, it's nice for us fans to see us finally be able to spend money on decent players and slowly start building a squad that can compete with the best, let us enjoy it.

If you retain Lukaku you could push for top 4 next season.

People are so stupid sometimes. Skybet odds of re-signing Siggy slashed from 22/1 into 7/4, all because the club tweeted his best goals to mark 5 years to the day since he was signed.

Liverpool have a clearly identifiable trend of struggling in alternate years when they have to juggle Europe and the PL.

2012/13 with EL: 7th
13/14 no Europe: 2nd
14/15 with CL: 6th
15/16 with EL: 8th
16/17 no Europe: 4th
17/18 with CL: ??

Given Liverpools struggles with this and the players Everton have signed I can see them usurping the Reds of a place in the top 6 and coming out of the season as the top side on Merseyside. They already have a better GK, a significantly (and it's even close) better defence and better CM's.

We have EL though and the last time we had EL we finished 11th, have to be fair to both teams if you're using that logic.

We need to sign more players. But I think we will be fine. We have a better squad than in previous years. Our squad now is at it's best since Suarez left.

Ruben Neves to Wolves is all but through and they're trying to get Willy Boly from Porto as well on loan. If that lot get promoted they are a future top 6 Premier League club with Fosun, Mendes and Nuno running things and their academy that produces gun after gun.

And for the definitive record:
