Seems like a smart move.
Paul Joyce from The Times in my opinion if the most reliable journo on Everton tranfers. Joyce has said the deal is still on and the fee with be £75m but add-on's will increase the fee. Any Rooney deal won't have anything to do with the transfer. Rom's contract will be worth £200k a week.
Whilst the deals are completely different it appears Everton won't have to pay a fee for Rooney, if this was to be the case you'd expect Everton to be better to negotiate with in return. Allowing United to get a better deal.

imagine wanting Joe Hart over Sam Johnstone.Same. Surely Villa could do better.
And false, all sides do it when they miss out on someone.
If he wasn't Conte's main target we would have heard about it over the last few weeks and not straight after another side has snatched him.
Who knows but its been claimed for a while now he wasn't Contes choice and there was a bit of a power struggle between him and Emenalo. Its not new news.

Villa? Why? I didn't think they'd spent that much. They're rooted by FFP.

FFP in the Championship is a joke anyway. QPR is still arguing their FFP fine almost 5 years after it happened.
Are they in trouble in terms of wages? Surely Terry is on a bit?Was widely reported before this window they had about 1m to spend and needed to shift players off their books.

Seems a huge risk that they'll just be able to move 9 players on in that case.
Yeah would completely expect someone bigger to come in for Hart. Even someone like a Bournemouth could use him really. Not sure to be honest, and as you say, FFP seems a bit stupid so they might just ignore it. Surely a bigger club comes in for Hart though.

Right you are, forgot about Begovic. They've got Begovic.
I would think West Ham, Newcastle, Brighton or Huddersfield, would be the obvious options.
