It's not a difficult concept to understand. Club A has no say over a player contracted to club B who sells to club C. Simple as that. Once again as I have stated buyout clauses are only useful if both the player and the club that owns him are happy to go along with it. Which is exactly the reason you quoted in the Alderwereld scenario when Atletico were actually obliged to sell him to Soton for 6.8m.
