To be fair though mate he's had limited minutes over the last two seasons and when he has played he was often used as an attacking central midfielder. It's almost certain he wouldn't regularly play that role here. (I'd be disappointed if he did)

The details of a potential deal are sketchy, Jim White was talking about the potential of a loan, the local rag, the Liverpool Echo are talking about a 12 month deal so whilst he's still going to be on very large wages we're not investing a real transfer fee and I'd expect him to generate a nice amount of income for the club so the financial side of the deal doesn't really worry me.

I know this really isn't a long term signing but we've already signed 5 blokes all under the age of 24, we're entering the biggest transition the club has had in decades. I really think bringing in a mature player of Wayne's experience and quality for a season will do us well.
Mate, he is shit.

United fans will be very happy that he is off the books.

Whilst I agree with you. I'm sure Wayne doesnt. No chance he comes to Everton if Koeman has said he will play cup games and warm the bench in the league. He could have done that at United.
I guess we don't really know what's been said behind close doors, if Rooney was to be our number one striker next season I wouldn't be as positive about about the deal but with Sandro Ramirez already signed and Lukaku still on the books he won't be our first choice striker, if Lukaku goes we'll sign another striker.

Wayne may just want to come home and backs himself in to perform well enough and score regularly to get those regular game starts.

United's squad is on another level to Everton's mate. Look at Morgon Schneiderlin, could hardly make an appearance at United last year but he was superb whenever he played for us.

Absolutely, very happy.

United legend for sure. But Wayne Rooney the footballer, is about as good as Wayne Rooney the bloke without a shirt on during his summer holidays. That is pretty crap.

Yeah and us fans wanted Morgs to get more games.

Rooney is cooked. No ifs or butts.

I honestly can't believe Arsenal had landed Lacazette. Like he's perfect for them but I just can't believe Wenger has actually done it.

If I were Sanchez, I'd be staying now. Give it til January and see how they're performing. If they're still useless, he walks on a free to wherever he wants.

No doubt it's a good signing and I'm glad he has fulfilled his dream.

There's a good reason for that though, neither LVG nor Mourinho had much faith in his ability to lead the line. Have you watched much of United in the last couple of seasons? It was pretty frustrating watching Rooney take the field. Attacking moves would consistently break down when he's on the ball as his touch has become so poor and he can't handle being pressed. He slows the team down so much that I grew to dread seeing him named in matchday squads.

I get that he could do good things behind the scenes at the club as he has so much experience and is very popular with other players but he really doesn't have anything left to offer on field at this level. It might sound like exaggeration but it really isn't it. How far he's fallen was really made clear recently in Carrick's testimonial when he was made to look second rate against blokes that have been out of the game for years.

Why?

Gueye would be the best DM at Liverpool and would play every week, and Schneiderlin has performed at a higher level than anyone in that midfield apart from maybe Lallana.

None of Evertons midfield would start at LFC. We don't play with a DM. Henderson plays as a deep lying mid and was outstanding until his injury (and one of the main reasons our results dropped off after his injury). Schneiderlin is on a similar level to Can who isn't a starter for us when everyone is fit. It's really only striker where Everton have a significant advantage over us and that was shown in both matches last season.

Always seemed like a perfect Arsenal signing, surprised it took us this long. Will get to see him first hand next week in Sydney too!

Is he definitely playing in Sydney? Might be worth me going if he is haha.

Yep Arsenal have said he is joining the tour. Everyone bar Alexis, Mustafi, Bellerin, Holding, Chambers, Cazorla should be there. Not sure about Ox.

One signing I am jealous of. Should Wenger reinforce midfield with some real quality and retain Alexis a title challenge wouldn't be out of the question.

I heard Cazorla is crocked again? Surely the end for him.

If we get the right CM/DM to partner Xhaka then I'd agree, until then I'll have my doubts.

Josh Tymon signs for Stoke on a 5-year contract.

In other news, Stoke thinks signing a player who wasn't even on a professional deal is worth getting supporters hyped up over.

Were some whispers that he had another setback and had been ruled out for the whole of next season. He then posted an instagram picture of himself in the gym so not sure what to think. Either way we can't rely on him being available.

Some chatter that United could sign Lukaku. Nothing really concrete and probably just linked because of Rooney at Everton and that he hasn't yet signed with Chelsea and we haven't signed Morata.

Also the fact he and Pogba are holidaying together.

Not sure why anyone is that surprised Arsenal got Laccazette they've signed expensive great attacking players recently. Whichev of Ozil or Sanchez came first was the surprise.

Yeah, Ozil pretty much came out of nowhere from the ashes of the Bale transfer (iirc).
