Paul Joyce from The Times in my opinion if the most reliable journo on Everton tranfers. Joyce has said the deal is still on and the fee with be £75m but add-on's will increase the fee. Any Rooney deal won't have anything to do with the transfer. Rom's contract will be worth £200k a week.

Whilst the deals are completely different it appears Everton won't have to pay a fee for Rooney, if this was to be the case you'd expect Everton to be better to negotiate with in return. Allowing United to get a better deal.
Actually maybe not:

Chelsea a chance for Griezman if Costa goes the other way now that Lukaku is off to United
No chance, they wouldn't have a striker until January.

I'm not too upset missing out on Lukaku; as I said earlier, for the money i'd prefer to spend that on a more dynamic striker like Sanchez, Morata or Belotti. Still though, i'm getting pretty impatient with Big Willy Style being our only signing in this window so far.

How is Morata and Belotti more dynamic than Lukaku?

Didn't think your lot would want any more Frenchmen even near the city let alone the club after some of the trash you've picked up (Gouffran lel).

If he is more like the Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Debuchy (heck even early days Sissoko) vintage, it will be swell. Especially if there is a juicy resale value there.

If he is more like a Riviere/Amalfitano - then please no! :p

P.S Gouff was solid last season. Should be a back up player only though this season.

Surprised to see Anita go to Leeds. Was a bit sad to see him not offered a new deal. Handy utility player.

I just see them as better technically and will integrate and interchange better with Hazard, Pedro, Willian and Cesc than what Lukaku would. I see Lukaku more as a power forward, like a Drogba (although he's a bit faster than Drogba).

Think Morata is more in the Lukaku mold as a CF, got to remember though Belotti as it stands is a one season wonder so far and Morata has started something like 44 games in three seasons or so. Lukaku on the other hand is PL experienced and getting better each season.

Both Morata and Belotti will also cost the same or more than Lukaku.

United missed out on their first choice Morata. I would say Chelsea should come in and try to get him
The only problem I see is that some reports suggest Zidane wants to keep the squad together which is why the Morata deal to United didn't happen as quick as the press would have us believe and why they haven't pulled the trigger on Mbappe.

Actually we are about to sign our first choice.

Are you about to sign Morata?

No, our first choice in Lukaku.

And before you respond with your attempts at trolling, Perez's and RM mouthpiece Marca claimed just last night United and RM were only a few million apart from striking a deal, within an hour of that everyone else then announced that United had a agreed a deal with Everton.

Got something to back that up out of interest?

Why did you try to buy Morata first then?

United weren't able to get it over the line but he can still be gotten even though Zidane wants to keep him. Zidane says he wants to keep everyone

The fact that Perez himself said no offer had come in. Media has been reporting for weeks (Marca the main culprit) that we had made bids, RM president himself states he hasn't received one.

Were we interested? No doubt, but one side received a bid from us and they don't wear a white strip and play in Spain.

Why did you try to buy Morata first then?

He was an option. Unless RM president is a liar?

Not that, something to back up that Lukaku was actually your 1st choice.
