Yet still better than Firmino.

I have to admit that Everton have a better keeper, better back 4, better mids and also Rooney > Firmino.

We'll struggle to finish top 10.

Read something interesting on this walker deal. Talks about how little emphasis clubs that spend really big put on coaching and improving their own

- city release Kieran Trippier to Burnley for £0 in 2011
- Trippier develops at Burnley for 3 years and is sold to Tottenham for £5m
- After 18 months at Tottenham Trippier displaces Kyle Walker in the back end of the 16/17 season for "big" matches
- Man City bid £55m for Kyle Walker

So 4.5 years ago they had a kid that's been coached to be nearly as good as Kyle Walker yet they gave up on him. You'd have to say in that time he has been coached and developed at a greater rate than Walker

But he's not as good as Walker, not really close. Only thing he does better is crossing
But in our 3421 that's a massive weapon to have. They're equal in terms of defensive play. You could say all walker is better at is being quick.

And by equal I mean their biggest weaknesses cancel each other out.

Walker - brain fades
Trippier - dealing with very pacy wingers.

That being said it's easier for Dier or Toby to cover a skinned Trippier than it is a Walker crazy **** up

I'd have Walker comfortably ahead defensively, largely because of his pace. Walker is also better going forward imo.

Going forward in terms of running with the ball yes. But he doesn't do a whole heap with that. Defensively neither are perfect and whilst the stupid stuff from Walker has reduced there's still 6-8 real dumb mistakes a season made where they nearly always result in goals

Lol no. Trippier shits on him going forward.

Don't forget Man U and Keane. Seems like Burnley know how to develop and sell players for profit.

are spurs fans really gonna have the view from now on that a perennial backup is now as good as the 55m pound RB they just sold?

No. Not sure anything more than the minority think that.

Offensively he's better but not overall.

Trippier has a lethal right foot. So much more potent that Walker (or just about any RB in the EPL).

But Walker's pace and strength are massvie weapons defensively. No doubt about that.

I'd prefer Walker over Tripps - but not 55 million more if you get what I mean...

I said almost as good. Defensively they're both 6/10 and offensively they've got different weapons. I'd say our first choice will be the Portuguese 22 year old well spend 20-25m on.

Every starting XI has a least needed player and walker is ours
