I'm interested to see how he goes.
After leaving the comforts of Mauricio at Southampton there were some that struggled at their new club. Lovren the best example.

the plan was to sign both, not one or the other, seeing as we dont have a senior right back on the books.

Well geez, he can do it all really. People keep mistaking him for another Kante but he's far different to Keita. He can play as a DM, but also a deep lying playmaker, a box to box mid, or an attacking midfielder.

He can tackle, pass, shoot, score, create. He gets likened to Kante because he puts himself about a lot and has a large tank. He really is a jack of all trades in midfield. I probably like him best in a box to box role. Henderson to play the deep lying playmaker role and Coutinho the AM in our midfield three.

I havent seen him play heaps. But once we are linked to someone I do a lot of research to learn about the player. Read everything and anything I can and watch a lot of youtube, every touch videos are far better than highlights packages.

You were suggesting a strong knowledge of his game when comparing it to Sigurdsson and Walker - ignoring of course that Man City have 0 senior right backs at the moment, and Everton are cashed up - so I was curious where that knowledge comes from when you freely admit to not watching much outside the PL.

So I said he can do a bit of everything from midfield. Where was the mayo? I didnt say he was the GOAT of midfield.

I think he's a very good young player and Klopp is keen. Good enough for me.

The market is certainly skewed. We might buy Keita for 60 and he flops and Everton might buy Siggy for 45 and he has a great season. Who knows.

The fee for Walker is crazy. Anyway you try to put it.

scarcity always drives the price up. there's a lack of good-great fullbacks, and it has become one of the most important positions in modern football. add in buying from a direct rival, homegrown and everyone adding 10 mil because it's us, there's not much that can be done.

i rate keita, but there's a lot of good-great midfielders you could get for 60 mil as opposed to good-great fullbacks for 45-50 mil.
