Yeah cos the cash was never splashed on players. Van Nistelrooy, Veron, Ferdinand, Cole, Yorke, Keane (which was a record at the time), Berbatov to name a few.

Hard to tell. Theres a lot of gossip about a CB but nothing concrete and every now and then someone comes out saying the club are happy with what we've got.

Few people suggesting VVD and Keita which would go down well. Can't see either but a CB, CM and a forward would probably finish this summers spending.

That would be hilarious if you signed VVD and Keita.

For me personally you need to sign a decent deep CM and a more reliable CB to partner Stones if you guys are going to win the league.

I'd assume it's people that thought Klopp rated him due to the new deal. It was just people on Twitter.

I think Klopp did/does rate him to some extent, but not enough to turn down 8mil for a guy who started about 4 league games in 3 years. Even in this market that's insane.

He's not a terrible player though by any means. Will probably do alright for you.

Oh, we didn't pay 8m, it's 4m. Rises to 8m if we get promoted which couldn't bother me less if we're forking out 4m after promotion.

See above. I was quite annoyed when it seemed we were basically swapping Robertson for Stewart, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
