What are Matic to United odds like?

That seems the likeliest signing for United. Since Lukaku was signed almost 3 weeks ago, it's a massive concern that nothing else has been done.

Eh it's not that bad. We addressed our two biggest needs, I'd like a new DM but with Carrick staying its not a must have and I'd rather back Martial to have an impact then get a new winger.

Yeah I'd love it if United sort of gave up on Martial by signing a new winger. Reckon he'll come good if given the appropriate opportunity in the first team.
I reckon his good form in the preseason has brought him back into Mou's main plans.

Easy to forget how young he still is.

Can't believe Mou is complaining about excessive spending in this transfer market. He's one of the biggest spenders of all time!!

I don't want a new winger at all, we have enough depth in the position. I think we need a DM now rather than going into the season without an upgrade, though. Carrick is a fantastic footballer but despite the captaincy, I don't see him playing as a regular starter. There's still two weeks to go before the season begins and a month to make a new addition, hopefully.

one or two signings have little to no impact on inflating the market.

Disagree on that one. When a player sells for far above his real value other clubs follow suit and inflate their transfer fee demands accordingly.

£50m was unthinkable for a fullback 2 years ago. City have just dropped that twice on 2 fullbacks both of whom aren't exactly Cafu or Roberto Carlos. Expect to see fullbacks changing hands regularly for 40-50m.

real value isnt a thing. everyone's value is how much anyone is willing to pay.

a lot of fees were unthinkable at an arbitrary moment in time as well.
