lots of money plus wanting to be the main guy.

his money loving father has had a lot to do with this too.

Was always going to be the main man at Barca once Messi / Suarez move on which isn't that far away.

It's purely money and nothing else. Don't see PSG winning the CL either even with Neymar on board.

This transfer epitomizes what is wrong with modern day football and the sort of owners that fund PSG.

Of all the things wrong with modern football a player being bought for his buyout fee isnt the one that immediately comes to mind.

why wait when you can do it now?

the champions league is weak. neymar coming in launches psg right into that top contender bracket while drastically weakening barca.

Neymar Snr pocketing upwards of 50m for facilitating the transfer is what is wrong with transfers in modern football. As well as PSG potentially avoiding FFP by using Neymar as an ambassador is also wrong.

Let's just ignore the fact that those who are funding this transfer employ half a million slaves with no basic human rights and pay them bugger all.

Absolutely disgusting they can spend 200m on one footballer but can't pay half a million slaves properly.

Once the bill is settled Barca still need to pay the loyalty bonus.

Barca lied with the original Neymar purchase. Kind of apt that it's ending this way for them.

Maybe Trump will bomb them.

CL is weak?

Real, Bayern & Barca are the only teams winning it in the near future.

City fans should know - billions spent and still no CL title.

yes it's weak. if you take a worlds class player from a side you're trying to get into then you put yourself right in there.

psg taking neymar strengthens psg to the point of making them contenders. barca are drastically weakened. take out neymar and who plays on the left? turan? deulofeu? bayern havent made the final since 2013.

madrid is potentially the only top, top side in this season's champions league.

bayern havent made the final since 2013.

Mate, you won the league in the greatest underdog story in the history of sport. You're not allowed to complain about anything being "just our luck".
Valid point haha.

You could say that in almost any given year after team X wins the CL

Let's see who Barca sign first before declaring them drastically weakened.

Yeah, with Z98 on this one.

Spending 200m on a guy who kicks around a ball once or twice a week - without factoring in his wages - is, at the very least, in bad taste. Particularly when you consider so many of the circumstances surrounding the people paying the fee and the financial dificulties faced by millions who live in poverty.

I know football can never be accused of having perspective, but perhaps this deal will be the one to break the camels back and force a rethink.

you could. but madrid have won it twice in a row now. barca are selling a massive cog to it. bayern will be around the mark most likely, if tolisso, sule and co can make the step up. but they have lost quite a bit of experience and leadership. juventus have once again done decent business but have sold a world class defender. atletico havent added anything besides vitolo. the door is open for psg to really push their way into a final.

Let's see who Barca sign first before declaring them drastically weakened.
they are selling a world class player who gelled tremendously with suarez and neymar. they aren't going to sign anyone better.

Why is it in bad taste if the people/club buying the player, can afford to do so? As with everything to do with football, I think it's all relative. PSG are backed with astronomical finances - why shouldn't they flex their financial muscle?

I get what you're saying but don't see why this one would be the one that breaks the camels back.

Neymar just wants to go around hanging out with celebs and ******* hot chicks, like a lot of Brazilian footballers

So the move makes sense for him
Sounds terrible.

Get the feeling that this deal will affect a lot of other clubs. Barca looking to buy, PSG maybe looking to sell.

Could kickstart a big couple of weeks. Can't see Barca going into the season with what they've got. They'll want a big signing, as much as a statement as anything.
