Different situation. Southampton gave permission for Van Dijk earlier in the year to negotiate with other clubs. It's the lack of a bidding war and inability to drive VVD's price up to the supposed £70m price leaked by them that has annoyed Soton.

FWIW those players you quote have criticised the club for allowing the transfer to be leaked before it was agreed with Southampton.
Ah, so it's different.

I guess they are still hoping he'll change his mind and stay.
Why?
They'll never be a UCL club and he is one of the best CB's in the world and deserves UCL.
He'll end up with us but if he doesn't hope he goes to a UCL club.
Its pointless saints trying to hold onto him, IMO they are just trying to drive his price up and appease their fans.

If he can stay on the park this will be a very good signing in our attempt to stay up this season, will also provide knowledge and experience for our group of central defenders. 1 year deal good for both parties as well

Also we've poached Bayern Munich's Technical Director Michael Reschke and Chief Scout Timon Pauls after parting ways with our Sporting Director.

I think that's one of the reasons he wants klopp.

You tell 'em. VVD has already finished 8th in the league with Southampton, so he wants to experience it with Klopp who has finished 8th and 7th, 2 of the last 3 seasons. [emoji106]

Not Bayer Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim and Hannover 96

Edit: Plus Dortmund is listed on the German Sharemarket with Stuttgart and HSV having spun their Senior Teams off (to a private investor in HSV's case and to Daimler for VfB) to get around the 50+1 rule and raise extra funds.

There's a few others, Ingolstadt is owned by Aldi for instance.

With Lallana out for 3 months now perhaps we will see Liverpool get their skates on in the transfer market
