Trying to be unbiased here, if Neymar is worth 200 mil is this going to change what clubs have to pay for players now, like by double? Or is it just an outlier than means little.
If not what is Sanchez worth now? Coutinho? Bale? etc etc.

To the selling club he definitely is worth 1/4 of Neymar. He contributed just as much if not more to Swansea than Neymar did for Barca. If anything it means other players should be worth less if Neymar goes for "only" 200m.
E.g. Sigurdsson shouldn't be worth 50m.
Bit of both IMO. Because it was a buyout clause that was paid rather than a negotiation it shouldn't really change things, however the fact that we have gone from an 89m world record to 200m in the space of 12 months will surely have some impact on the market. More so it will change the fees paid for other big transfers this window as everyone knows Barca have 200m burning a hole in their pocket. Don't think it immediately affects the likes of Sanchez, but if Coutinho/Dembele move to Barca this window then their fees will be higher than they would have been prior to the Neymar deal, which could snowball further in windows to come.Trying to be unbiased here, if Neymar is worth 200 mil is this going to change what clubs have to pay for players now, like by double? Have to consider return on investment too. Barca paid 75m for Neymar (plus whatever other dodgy under-the-table payments and tax cheating they went through) while Sigursson cost Swansea 10m IIRC.To the selling club he definitely is worth 1/4 of Neymar. If it wasn't for Sigurdsson Swansea don't stay up, which means losing all the PL money. That would be close to a 1/4 of Neymar's feeLol wut.
No he didn't.
Does a player who scores 30 goals for a L2 side represent the same value as Neymar because he contributed as much relatively for them?
Obviously only when comparing relatively equally rich clubs.Lol wut.

What's EPL money worth a season?
Swansea would be stupid to sell Gyfli for less than that + 25-30m on top of that.

Neymar shouldn't effect deals going around the EPL.You're making a completely different point now though. The comment about Neymar revaluing players actually DEVALUES a lot of the silly deals flying around in the EPL at the moment.
Another example would be Stones. Or Walker.
Neymar shouldn't effect deals going around the EPL.
The theory I looked at above is how EPL clubs would look at it. It's not new either. Why do you think we got so much for Bale? He was our golden ticket to CL qualification so we'd include that revenue in our valuation for him because without him we'd be unlikely to get in there so would need compensation from the buying club for that.
Stones & Walker are a bit different because of HG quotas. Man C don't have a lot of English players on their books so they're always likely to incur a bit more of a fee. Sterling too really. Liverpool and Spurs didn't need to sell and therefore asked for more money than they thought the player was worth, Man C have that money to spend and met the valuation.
I've said it a few times but no player has a set amount they're "worth". Gyfli to Swansea is worth 40-50m to Swansea regardless of Neymar because Everton & Swansea aren't in the market for your Neymar level players so it shouldn't be looked at as oh he isn't worth that because Neymar is more than 4x better than him. Is Gyfli worth 40-45m to Man C, Real, Spurs, Chelsea etc.? No he isn't, but to Everton and more importantly Swansea he is
You said he should make other players like Siggurdson should now go for less. And I explained why it's irrelevant what Neymar went forHe shouldn't.... but the poster was posing the question and I was answering it.
This conversation is ridiculous IMO. You can't say Player X should go for Y% of Player Z and then use the above reasoning to justify it.
This is spot on & probably all that could be said with any degree of confidence.

Oh I thought you were staring it would impact itSo then why address me and not the person posing the question?
I said "If anything". Meaning it wouldn't impact, but if it did.
I called for them to replace Cout with Sigi a few pages back. Would cost half the funds of a Cout, about one Walker. Tadic is another good suggestion, plenty of replacements.Liverpool should sign Tadic and Gylfi with the Coutinho money. Both would hit the ground running and should cover his loss pretty well.
Gyfli would fit in with Klopp's pressing and is just as much a goal threat as CoutinhoI called for them to replace Cout with Sigi a few pages back. Would cost half the funds of a Cout, about one Walker. Tadic is another good suggestion, plenty of replacements.
