Did you actually read his quote? He said he might not be there in the future if we don't win anything. Which I think is fair enough for a player of his ability. I remember Hoddle saying the same thing just before that team started lifting trophies

Yes I did. IMO he's not happy with life at spurs be it wages and player transfers. You can't say that is the ramblings of a happy camper.

I interpret it slightly different to you. I would say he feels he's at a crossroads in his career, and his future is still somewhat undecided

He's welcome at Chelsea. Nice pay rise, more prestigious club, better chance of winning things. Not sure what else he would want.

Or even Arsenal, they at least win some trophies.

You know, Danny Rose was alright for us when he was on loan here. Some even say his descent to greatness started as a Black Cat.

Think he's hankering for a move back to us with his "up North" comments.

Descent to greatness? :P

Clearly wants to go back to his roots in Yorkshire. We'll oblige.

Andre Grey for 18.5M is a pretty interesting deal for Watford, have to wonder about Deeney's future there now a bit.
Would love for us to put some feelers out about Deeney
Rose wants a nice juicy pay rise. Nothing more to it.
Exactly this. The article goes on to mention that he is Poch's pet. Think he has played this brilliantly tbh as he has voiced his demands for a pay rise and knows his manager has his back on it. Expect him to sign a new deal once he is back fit at the end of September and push him into the 100k bracket.

As for his comments about moving north. It's only really Man United that could accommodate him whilst he is in his peak. It's not out of the question at all, suggest Poch would demand Shaw as part of any deal there. It really is key we keep him for this season. If he still wants to move to United next season we simply have to go all out for Ryan Sessengon that same window. Sell Rose for 40-50m and offer Fulham 20-30m for Sessengon. Or in an ideal world he stays with us and perhaps he goes north in 3 years time back to Leeds?

Disagree. He's a Leeds Utd product and clearly wants to go back home "up north".

Don't see anything in it really. Walker's departure was purely down to £££££ and who will sign Rose "in the north" anyway? Citeh have just spent £256m on their defense. Utd have Shaw + other options at left full back. Liverpool have just bought Robertson and have Milner who is solid at LB.

He's going nowhere.
When we sold Walker to City they also wanted Rose and we told them that it wasn't going to happen. He was their first choice LB transfer target apparently.

I disagree with WR. These comments are a disgrace imo, particularly on the eve of the season. He was rubbish before Pochettino arrived and it's seems ungrateful now and incredibly selfish that he's going to publicly criticise the transfer policy, say he's not paid enough and agitate for a move up North right on the eve of the season.

If poch is true to his word he would fine rose and get rid of him. Has said he only wants players who are all in

Would be a nice "Rooney moment" if he went back there if they got promoted in a couple years time

Yes please

I remember when Milner signed on for Villa he had a clause in his contract that were Leeds to make it back to the PL he'd be allowed to be sold (think of it as a club-specific buyout clause).

Given how much in the shite we were at the time it was probably seen as a low risk clause by Villa

Rough translation: "Liverpool have rejected a €100m offer from Barcelona for Coutinho. The player is not pushing for a move."

Guillem Balague saying that Barça are willing to be patient but also admit if not Coutinho they'll look elsewhere, and will not overspend on him. Also notes that Coutinho has not requested a transfer, and has behaved "impeccably".

As with Keita, Van Dijk and a whole host of other potential moves this summer, this will all come down to how much Coutinho wants the move and how much he is willing to rock the boat.

My confidence that these reports of a done deal and imminent transfer over the last 3 days (which have since proven to be completely false) were complete bs was derived from the fact that to date there have been no reports of any pressure being applied by Coutinho or (unusually given his track record) his agent. With 3 weeks to go in the window obviously that may change, but I'm not going to be too concerned until it does.

Any update on Mbappe? Loaded up @ 3.75 to stay at Monaco. Haven't heard much lately though

WealstoneRaider bring on the Coutinho bet.

French media has PSG favourites to sign him, I doubt they spend another 100m on a player this market, personally think he stays for another season.

If Barca offered that for Coutinho a month ago you reckon Liverpool would accept it. It's a hell of a fee to turn down. Good on them though.
Probably not to be honesty, may have depended on Keita coming in as some what of a replacement?
