Bet he'll be popular at training tomorrow.

Said this a while back but the wage structure at Tottenham is going to cause them problems in terms of keeping this squad together going forward. The cult of Pocchetino and being a proppa Tottenham lad is great, but it doesn't pay the bills.

I'd almost guarantee we would've lost Gerrard if we hadn't made him 1 of the highest paid players in the league thorough his peak years.

Spurs players will see what their counterparts are earning elsewhere and naturally over time some will start to get a little frustrated.
Read the Swiss Ramble who posts a lot on football finances since the comments came out and our wage structure makes perfect sense.

Man U, Man C, Spurs, Liverpool & Arsenal all operate in the recommended 45-55% wage to revenue ratio. In fact that order I posted it in is the exact order from lowest to highest, we come in at 51% with united at 45% and Arsenal at 56%. Only Chelsea buck the trend and pay at 68%. Most mid-table clubs also operate in the 40-50% range as well.

Until revenues increase the wage structure is adhered to and this isn't a Spurs specific thing all clubs tend to operate in a way where there wages dont go up too much in that ratio.

I'd only be pissed with our wage structure if it doesn't change once we move into the new stadium and hypothetically double our revenues. If revenues double and we keep spending the same on wages and that ratio drops to 30-40% then it's completely ****ed. But I doubt that would happen and I'd expect to see wages rise at a similar rate to revenue does.

Doubt they pull it off but if they do, wtf? £200m on Neymar and £163m on Mbappe.

Ludicrous.
I'd ROFLMAO if someone equally as talented like Coman or Martial comes good this season and the other two who are both apparently worth over 120m flop if they both move.

surely PSG are having an August 31 fire sale if they get M'Bpappe
Wenger and Levy will be licking their lips

Just goes to show that oil money in the game isn't a good thing. These sorts of deals will drive transfer market inflation sky high.

Should the heat be put on France over the next year to win the World Cup?

French players or French clubs have been major players in the inflation of players recently, going back to say Martial?

Will surely be one of the favourites, even though Giroud still somehow starts :D

Lloris
Sidebe Varane Koscielny/Umtiti Mendy
Dembele Kante Pogba Lemar
Giroud Mbappe/Griezmann

Not to mention the likes of Matuidi, Tolisso, Payet, Lacezette, Rabiot, Martial sitting on the bench.

Is it the Qatar royal family making a statement via PSG before the Qatar World Cup?

That's exactly what the Neymar transfer is. Trying to show they have power in the face of the ME political crisis.
