Liverpool PR Departments Melissa Reddy?

Every club has them. I get the feeling it's a quid pro quo type of relationship - when we brief you on x, you report it, in return you get access to people inside the 4 walls. Players, coaches, people involved in transfers, etc.

Yep. And you get to know which ones give you news, and which ones throw you a line.

TBF, don't know too much about Melissa Reddy. She seems a bit of an LFC stooge from early impressions. Not really much credibility.

She tends to get very reliable, early info on when the club have made inquiries/offers for various players, but when she starts reporting things like 'x player is signing soon' or 'y player is about to leave', you know you're mostly getting LFCs perspective on the scenario rather than a balanced, no spin assessment.

She's got plenty of inside knowledge at LFC. Was one of the first to leak details about the current bid which are now being reported everywhere.

Looks like the club leaked details of Barca's current bid to embarrass them.

1) Adam Johnson, Jeremain Lens, Wahbi Khazri, Emanuele Giaccherini, Fabio Borini, Ricky Alvarez, Will Buckley (:$). Literally any winger we've signed who's meant to be a "fantastic signing" has been shit these past few years.

2) Honeyman and McGeady have gotten a decent partnership going. McGeady tore Wednesday a new arse the other morning and Honeyman looks to be another great find from our academy. Don't need Snodgrass on the wings with those two and with Khazri in reserves.

3) Agreed that he'd be a great signing and especially at Championship level but we have no money so Bain is being a complete cheapskate. All in all, would prefer we didn't sign him due to our track record with wingers recently and Honeyman coming onto the scene like he has.
1) Did those wingers have a proven track record in the championship?

Ajax reporting £36.5m + £2m in add ons. The weak GBP apparently was a stumbling block as Levy wanted to pay over 5 years in the hope that it recovered. ****ing hell its really like getting blood from a stone with him sometimes

Spurs buying the 4th most expensive defender in history, who would've thought that a couple of years ago!

Pretty quiet on the Arsenal front but we are still in for Lemar and Seri, with VVD and Draxler being less likely arrivals.

As usual I think we'll be leaving it until the last minute. Monaco will be seeing if they lose Mbappe before selling Lemar, and I imagine Seri waiting to see if Nice qualify for the UCL or not (2-0 loss away in the first leg).

I'm coming around to the fact we probably won't make anymore signings. Maybe Drinkwater, but ours and Leicester's valuation seems world's apart. And I think if any club caves it will be us. Oh well.

I'm still pretty sure we'll sign at least 2 players before the window shuts.

Drinkwater will get done(the clubs are still finding that common ground between our 25m offer and their 40m evaluation) and a wingback either Ox or Candreva(who'd both fill quite a few holes) I reckon, maybe both which would be awesome.

All things considered, you'll be paying 40m if you want him. We won't be accepting even 39m. (It's funny because we now have a ton of midfielders, and with James back, who knows?)

We might be signing Bojan KantKick (for 10m too!) and Townsend by the signs of things. Interesting.

Nah, we're getting him on a free next year. A bit of Sol payback. ;)

But until then we now have the best Sanchez in London. Or at least the only one that wants to play at his club.

Don't understand why Spurs are signing centre backs when they have the two best in the league.
Wimmer is leaving, Vertonghen is 30 and there is concern over whether Alderweireld will agree to a new contract. If he doesn't I'd say it's likely that he is sold this time next season.

Spurs should have chucked that transfer fee into Dolberg, Sanchez is average.
Interesting. Do you base this on just the EL final or have you seen him a bit?

I replied to Boj a couple of pages back that I've seen a variety of opinions on this guy. Guillet called him the best Ajax defender since Jaap Stam and he won Ajax's player of the season last season. But I've also seen people say that he is very raw, terrible on the ball and loves to dive in. Even on the EL final I saw people say he was their best player and others say that he was terrible.

I was concerned about the price when I first read about it. I mean, our record buy at ~36m pounds for a 21 year old CB seems like a massive risk, although it makes me happy that our record buy is no longer Moussa Sissoko. But when you consider the prices paid for other CB's this window:

Harry Maguire for 13.7million
Nathan Ake for 22.8million
Victor Lindelof for 35million
Antonio Rudiger for 35million
Michael Keane for 30m

It doesn't look too bad in that context. More encouraging, perhaps it's a sign that Levy is finally starting to catch up to this market in buying terms and realises that he has to spend.

Mainly taking the piss. Yeah he is very raw but very imposing IMO.

Still though, Dolberg is the one I'd have taken from Ajax.
